The desert map will be called "The Sea of the Shifting Sands". As pics show, having fun with the shifting sand!

A desert! Very nice. It must be hell lighting that map properly, since I found the Unreal Engine to be very very bad with anything even remotely bright and sunlit.
Those screenshots make me want to dig out my UT copy again...

Sana, thank you very much for your comments. Yes, it's slow going trying to maintain an atmosphere of searing heat, almost blinding light balanced with the cool feel of limited shade!

Try clicking "Primary download link" in the first post.

Nice screenies!! Very keen to play. For some reason I thought that skaarj with the tent at the oasis was going to be really far out, in the middle of the desert. Made me laugh when I realised it's actually right there near the ruins

I can't tell if that's a deeeeep crypt, deep underground, like in diablo 2, or whether it's the same shot as the last shot in your previous post, just done up a bit more. Good on you You managed to suprise me yet again. I still can't tell! XD One thing is for sure, you definitely know how to build in a sense of suprise to your maps.

This is giving me serious "Shadow out of Time" vibes, which is great. Of course I DID just read that fairly recently, so I'm biased. I take it Illhaven is not set in the deserts of Western Australia concerning an ancient alien civilization's ruins :p

Thanks guys! I am really having fun with this one! Yes, IronKnuckle, that crypt is way down deep under the sands. Built a long series of tunnels, with sand covered ramps to get back out (up!).
Waff, haven't read that. But no, "kew" hasn't been to Australia (yet). Not sure I know where he is.... All I can say is that, after escaping Nalipente, he finds himself here! BTW, I just read "Sanctus" by Simon Toyne. It's a current bestseller and is set in the ancient city of Ruin. Great stuff!

It's great to see a desert map from time to time, especially when it's done well.
