I like Emiliana, although I'm unfamiliar with that particular song...

Currently listening to a bit of Pulp.

You can listen to it on YouTube. I never heard about her before, but Jungle Drum has been repeatedly played on the radio in the last few days due to it's usage in a horrible television show named "Germany's Next Topmodel" :P

Emilíana Torrini - Jungle Drum

I just checked this one out and man, the way she moves and sings is so extremely annoying; I had to quit at 20 seconds.

Couldn't agree more. The title suggests something with a decent (read more "primitive") drumbeat, conga's or djembés, certainly something more African or South American. And some wild, raw dancing should come with it. Basically it's nothing more than a poppy hit.

To recuperate from that session I went way south.

I guess I prefer Emiliana Torrini to death metal, but that's the beauty of music - it caters to all tastes.
