Has anyone tried to play F.E.A.R 2?
For gods sake, I cannot get it running no matter what I am doing, the game is COMPLETELY BROKEN. I've read that nobody get get it to run flawlessy, blackscreen, video problems up to crashes. And there is no Patch which fixes a single problem. I would love to sue the Developers back into the stone age, selling a game which does not work at all.
Damn, I am sooo mad.

Oh, I forgot:
Nvidia GF 7600 GT - Latest driver 6.14.11.8206
2x 2200mhz /4400mhz
I've heard so many solutions which MAY work, from incompatible video codecs up to disabling shaders, whole sites of stuff which may work.
Whats the problem with releasing a patch? The Game is already two months old, no bugfixes, nothing at all.

Well, I actually liked all FEAR episodes, seems that number 2 is a lot different to the last episodes in quality and function.
But they could at least release a patch or something that the game is actually PLAYABLE.

Works perfect for me and in 99% of impressions I've seen; it sucks for you but don't paint your issue as something more than a minority are suffering from.
Considering some worries I had from the demo (although a lot my view was tainted by the forced black bars shit that literally took about a third of the screen and made me refuse to play the actual game until it was fixed, which it was), FEAR 2 surprised me.
Gun-porn wise it's a bit of mixed bag as stuff like the shotgun is far less cool than the original one (although the auto-shotgun comes close), but I also much prefer the feel of the Assault Rifle and Sub-machine gun in the sequel (by the standards of the rest they felt like a bit of a weak-link in the original FEAR to me), which works out as they are the main guns you use for most of the game anyway. I'm still not sure on the AI vs the first game, the level design is probably generally a bit weaker in terms of combat arenas, with less flanking opportunities etc, and a few areas rely on a bit of a quantity over quality approach to enemy placement compared to the original, but there were still plenty of cool set-ups.
This is from the perpective of the revised hard mode in the patch though, which makes me even more glad I waited since I found the difficulty level pretty much perfect beyond a few bullshit things (like shotgunners randomly sniping you). The pre-patch hard mode sounds utterly pathetic and being completely god-like would have probably compromised my enjoyment a lot considering some difficulty forces using strategy. By extension I kept hearing about how the game is shorter than the first, but I found it at least as long, quite possibly longer; considering combat's the main part of the game I imagine actually having to be careful is a major part of that (compared to people who played FEAR 1 on hard/extreme and could just dash right through in FEAR 2 pre-patch hard). Of course, they fixed the environment variety this time too. So, overall I think I prefer it to the first game.
