WHAT: An Unreal Tournament Deathmatch map which uses pawns from Waffnuffly's EXU2 mod, namely the Brutes, to make for a particularly bloody and Brutish experience.

FEATURES:
- Portals, even some that move!

- Specific rooms that are more or less special,
like a garden, a music-changing room.


- Almost all of the UT Powerups
(excluded JumpBoots/Invisibility)


- Several floors of Brute-based action

- Non-Linear creature spawning: depending on
what route a player/bot takes first, the brutes will
spawn in a different order/rate


NOTE on items: The weapons/items placed in this map are normal UT weapons. I did this deliberately, so that one may choose between UT/EXU inventory on their own, by using the built-in weapon replacement mods included in EXU2; or, so that one may use whatever replacement mod they wish (hence the weird weapons in the screenies that have nothing to do with EXU, ignore them).

FINALLY: Special thanks to Waffnuffly for letting me use the mod/pawns in the first place. For a map like this, it really makes a difference not only that the pawns are excessive and blood-thirsty, but are also intelligent enough to make for good combat against human and AI players alike.

This is my first released map. So, as such, don't expect Seven Bullets-quality architecture and lighting :B However, I took painstaking lengths to get the botpathing and portals just right so the bots don't end up doing the running man at random points in the map, which is always infuriating. I also think you'll enjoy the scriptedsequences and use of patrols that add some interesting elements of gameplay and replay value (different game every time you place the map, even if in minor ways).

There's only one non-stock UT file in the ZIP, a song from Unreal. If there are any problems with missing content/whatever, or the link doesn't work, please let me know. Otherwise, have fun grabbing the Redeemer!

I spectated a match, and the bots handle beautifully. I'm definitely going to play it, nice work! :tup:

thanks! I had to take baby-steps with the darn AI... for example, the central and basement-room-level teleportals are one way. This took a really cheesy solution pathing-wise so that bots wouldn't end up camping then destinations. worked out in the end though...

i've been spectating as well at the moment. one thing I just discovered... top-down style doors do not always agree with the slow moving creatures... derp... update coming soon, most likely.
