Oooh, I smell a puzzle map! :D

Those ornate bsp patterns on the ceiling in the second shot are really nicely done, must have been a bitch to get right.

Thank you! Puzzles have always been part of my mapping experience, since I prefer and sometimes miss variative gameplay in Unreal maps. Your goal is to light every lamp at once via moving boxes on buttons in the Labyrinth, which in turn changes some paths in the labyrinth when you do so, so you have to plan ahead.
I've also come to pay more attention to atmospheric and more realistic lighting, so I'm glad you noticed that too!

Dave, I love that style and I am intrigued by what you described! Keep it coming

UB: holy hell I didn't know you could do that in UED2.0!! I am looking forward to G59's final release

Unreal's void size is pretty OMEGALUL tier if you want to do large areas - what's below is almost void-size long

I love this style, it's so anything unlike original Unreal and really atmospheric.

@Sat: Thanks, the improvements to the area you showed in your anniversary video were also really worth it!

@UB: that stuff is seriously awe-inspiring...

Yup it's the Drakk set, and it's one of the more UE1-friendly texture packs compared to the rest that's in U2. Most of the terran tech textures can work but many really belong to static meshes, you really need to design levels after them in order to make these textures work.

Doing some... "pre-production" for a new SP map. Watch out UT99.org mapping contest :P

(Textures are my own)

Well, looks like this thread hasn't been touched for a while.

Already shared this in some earlier phases on the discord server, but I'm currently in the process of making a skeletal skaarj warrior which can be used for a variety of different things/projects, and I will also intend to use it in Terra Mining Region.

Haven't begun on the lowpoly (ingame version) yet, so just have the untextured highpoly to show right now.

Overview
Image
(The gauntlets are straight up from U2, and are currently placeholders which i will replace with grafted slots in the lower arm that extend and retract the raziks).

The aim is to resemble it as canonically to an Unreal 1 skaarj warrior as possible, and only taking some meagre creative liberties for the purpose of not having impossible anatomy (if one were to interpret the eyes on the stock skaarjw skin, the eyes either wouldn't be spherical balls placed in the head as to be that size they would need to intersect with each other).

Doing it this way also gives me alot more control to make new classes with differing skin colours, eye colours, skin blemishes, scars, tattoos and also having attachables such as armour be bespoke with the skaarj proportions and animations.
