It's not too late to sign up until the deadline passes, so go right ahead!

Welcome aboard!

EDIT:
I'll go ahead and list myself among the contestants, but it's more than likely that I won't create/finish a full entry after all.

I've got an idea for a 6 hour speedmap that, knowing me, will probably take up the 6 weeks. I want to use the 6 hours to make the level, and then the rest of the time to add a high degree of polish.
But I'm not officially entering. Not unless anyone know of a way to pull off a "and the fog clears" effect? If they do, let me know and I'll sign up.

I'm open to anything semi-effective: Something hacky involving movers, sheets, actors, whatever. I just need to get that fog clearing effect and I'll have something to launch off.

If you don't know what I mean by a fog clearing effect, just think of some movie you've seen where big doors open, and there's super suspenseful music and heaps of fog in the gap between the doors, and right as the music gets climatic, the fog clears to reveal whatever it is within.
I can't give details of exactly what I'd be using this for, it'd be too much of a spoiler as you can imagine :P

Anyway, if anyone knows of a way to do it, let me know how, and let me know what platform the method requires, and then this competition will have another contestant.

(disclaimer, this post was made during a period of extreme sleep deprivation. I may wake up tomorrow and decided that this was an insane idea :P)

TriggerLight actors (with fog enabled)! With these you can slowly or instantly switch on or off lights by a trigger. Is that what you aim for?

That sounds perfect. So the light will fade out, as will the fog? Simple, awesome, and exactly what I need.

Well, I'll make my project thread then. Tomorrow. With screenshoots provided soon! :D Platform? I think I'll give the new 227 editor a go, seeing as it's so shiny and all :)

Yes, it was also used in the original Unreal campaign and RTNP: After teleporting the big teleporters (for example the one in VeloraEnd) display a small green foggy sphere awhile.

Good luck! :)

Holy poop fragnbrag has finaly arived at unrealsp? wow.

Well if one can still apply, I guess I can try the map I was going to do again, before I lost all my stuff due to my stupid self partitioning my BACKUP drive, aaaarg.(I am still bumming out from that, so many things and time all gone)

If I can get one done, it won't be very good.I still want to try it out though.

What is the timeline from now? (got it)

Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted on here but I do lurk from time to time to keep up to date with what's going on. I'm feeling in a mapping mood and have a few ideas knocking about. Am I ok to enter?

Whoah. Welcome back!

There's no reason you wouldn't be. Just make sure to pick your platform (Unreal, Unreal 227 or UT) and state it when you apply. =)
