Subject: UCC bug with compiling and Compatibility mode.

Post Posted: 06 Dec 2014, 23:50

I don't explicitly remember which version of Windows shows this bug, I think Windows Vista and 7... But if you try to "UCC make" your mod to start with a fresh .u package, if you have certain keywords or special characters in your scripts comments it causes the compile to fail. (I've had this problem recompiling UWindow.U to fix WindowConsole while keeping it system conformed to avoid mismatches)

What's really unusual is if you set compatibility to Windows 98 or NT 4.1, this error goes away. More so if you run cmd.exe from older Windows installs it also makes the problem go away.

Anybody have a clue what is *exactly* causing this problem? Sure compat mode or older cmd.exe bypasses the problem, but what the hell is going on with Window 7's cmd.exe?
