New screenshot. This is the cargo bay area you may remember from a few early screenshots. The lighting just plain SUCKED in that area, and I revamped it to be darker and neater.

Image

This is slightly brighter ingame, I used printscreen and it showed up darker for some reason.

Older screenshot, for comparison:

ty  ( I did realize we posted at almost the same time )

yeah man.. it looks like you've made alot of progress in your lighting skills. But hey, don't take my word for it because I'm a so called n00b when it comes to lighting techniques on this forum

Wow... You turned what looked like a bright perfectly functioning room into a dark, eery crashed ship. :)

This gives the place a lot more of a mood in my opinion.

This pack will NOT be based on the Phantom only. There will be some outdoor maps when you are approaching the Phantom.

Here is a picture of the entrance to terraniux (Bombed out by the Skaarj and left to rot) near the start of the 2nd level, a revisit to Harobed.

You probably won't be able to visit Terraniux, but MAYBE I will use it for a target practice level, where you shoot pupae and other critters that have taken up residence in the wreck, though I will only do this in the underground portion of Terralift.

Here are my plans for the pack.

1 - UMS ship (Kinda like in Xidia where you receive orders, gather some basic equipment, and go to the drop pod)

2 - Redone Harobed village

3 - Half-demolished Dark arena and Mine Enterance

4 - Taridium mine/plant

4 - ISV Phantom's Crash site

5 - ISV Phantom cargo deck (4)

6 - ISV Phantom Administration/Barracks deck (1)

7 - ISV Phantom Lab deck (2)

8 - ISV Phantom Engineering (3)

9 - ???

10 - Escape!

11 - Escape pt. 2

12 - Cutscene/End

That's 12 maps in all.

Newer screenshots. These are going to replace the old ones on the description once I make them smaller.

640x480.. creates a 1.5mb pic? :?
I think you need to do some optimization there.. or maybe the system didn't take your pics right.

As for the pics themselves.. looks good. Last pic needs some detailing on the walls: maybe some vents, pipes, walking platform, or a window with a skaarj (or whatever creatures you have there) looking at a screen.. just for decoration....?

He saved them as .pngs instead of .jpgs, which is why they are huge.

Don't save screenshots as .png. .png is for vector graphics and line art and stuff where you absolutely do not want any quality loss from compression.

I'm sorry to say this, but the worst has happened. Project Insecurity's hard drive decided to quit. I used CHKDSK, and it recovered almost everything, except my unreal tournament folder..

And now the only backup I have is a badly damaged one somewhere in the system files, which is missing an EXE and some critical DLLs.

I tried to create a fresh new installation of UT, but I have the damn Anthology, and it decides to crash every time I run the installer with a "-5006 0x80070017" error which makes me want to slap the person who recorded the "Critical stop" windows sound right across the face.

So, the chances that this project will ever be resumed are very slim. I'm about to pull my hair out over all these failed recovery attempts.

I guess it's too late to say "backup early, backup often".

Over the years, too many SPs have been lost this way.

I know exactly how you feel. I've been on the verge of tears because of something similar. It's so frustrating to lose something you've been working on so hard for days. You'll get over it eventually, start over and create something better... but yeah, it sucks :|
