[usp] UnrealSP.Org: A Decade Old
Posted: 21 Jun 2011, 23:51
This day marks the 10th year since the debut of what grew up to be the premier site for Unreal single player news. A lot of things have changed over the years; benevolent founder Hellscrag has left UnrealSP in the hands of a terrifying new management, and the hosting is now fully paid by the lovely community that has shaped (and, no doubt, been shaped by) this harbor of Unreal discussion and content creation. And yet, despite the age of the site's very foundation, Unreal the first-person shooter, there is no end in sight for the sheer volumes of brilliant content that is churned out by community mappers, coders, artists, designers, writers and players alike. I have no doubt that it will continue on this course, for Unreal fascination is hard to overcome (as proven by the fact that we are all still here)!
I planned to celebrate this day by releasing the results of the 10th Anniversary Speedmapping Contest, however I'm afraid that I must delay this until tomorrow due to unexpected time constraints. I apologize for inconveniencing the Contest Judges who have dutifully carried out their task on an extremely short notice.
I want to thank you all for keeping UnrealSP.Org what it has always been: a community of talented, pleasant and fascinating individuals, and the place I am most inclined to call my internet home. Cheers!
