Subject: [usp] Mister_Prophet articles, various updates

Post Posted: 15 Dec 2010, 23:35

Every once in a few millenia, when the stars align and the dead arise from their graves to walk the earth once more, UnrealSP's main page actually gets updated with fresh news from the community. Put on your best suit and crack open a bottle of champagne to mark this joyous occurrence!

Unreal super-celebrity and handsome beast Mister_Prophet has finished Your Friend, the Ice Texture, his compendium of watery caustics wisdom for Unreal/UT level designers. Not only that, but he has also written up a thorough review of Doublez-Down's recent map release, Gothic Resurrection. Both can now be found in their respective UnrealSP sections or via the above links.

However today's news treats shall not only be purely Prophet-themed.
- Notorious ex-forumer Leo(T.C.K.) has begun uncovering and restoring the lost relics of Unreal PSX, a port and altogether new Unreal campaign intended for the old PlayStation console. The project is represented at UnrealSP by Delacroix and can be found in this forum thread.
- OldUnreal admin Smirftsch has popped up at UnrealSP forums asking for assistance with localization files for the upcoming Unreal patch 227g. See if you can contribute to the translation efforts!
- Some amazing screenshots from Sarevok's Liandri Conflict have been posted.
- There is continued progress on UBerserker's EXU2 fan project G59, with the promise of soon-ish completion.

I have spoken. Words are tiring, so I will go back to hibernating. See you 2018!

Seriously, don't publish your e-mail address as a link like that. I know it's a specialised USP address, but even so, you're opening yourself up to a world of spam that you won't be able to get rid of without changing your e-mail address completely. I'm talking potentially several e-mails a day from the same company/companies, who will cover their tracks by using other people's e-mail addresses and offer you no option to unsubscribe.

mailto: is bad news - I've learned that the hard way over the years!

How come Gothic Resurrection gets a review when Rise of USP has been out longer? :P

I'll stop pretending to sulk to say that the review was interesting and usual Proph standard, made me laugh a couple of times as well. I've yet to read the tutorial.

Good review, although making a joke out of child rape made me wince a little.

Haven't read the review yet, jumped straight into that tutorial. Holy crap is all I can say. First tut in a while which i haven't been able to understand completely after a speed read. But hawt damn! What bloody amazing stuff. I didn't know what to expect but certainly nothing like that. Can't wait to wrap my mind around it properly. :D

Now onto that review
