Weird problem

In UT99 if I click on "custom maps" the game freezes than crashes.This is the first time this has happened to me. Any ideas? Map packs work great,it's only when I try to use "custom maps" this happens.Please help:)

Try backing up then deleting your oldskool.ini and seeing if it still happens after refreshing?

Thanks Waffnuffly,that did the trick.I appreciate it:) But why would oldskool.ini cause the problem in the first place? You don't need to answer that,I'm just glad it's fixed.

It probably was trying to find a corrupted entry in the map list it collects. Rebuilding the file purges any possible corruption, I'd guess.
