It was created just for fun, and to test WarpZoneInfo .

Yeah, I'd like to avoid that kinda stuff.
I'll say it bluntly. I've always assumed the best maps and packs were already featured here at USP. Is there anything out there that the site hasn't featured that could be considered higher rung or above average?

I've only heard of Zora as in "Zora's server".
I didn't know he/she made any maps.

if you were really stuck for something to do you could always review the original unreal using UnrealSP's marking criteria.... It would be funny to see how Unreal holds up against its mods in a review. Of course, you need to keep bias out of it and go by the marking scheme. Unreal doesn't score 100 just because "Hey, its Unreal baby".
Really, I would LOVE to know how it scores with the sites criteria. I'd bet that "The Tower of Shrakith'a" will get a higher score actually.

I'm not doing that
As for the Zora stuff, is this like crappy COOP only type stuff or real packs?

I think the original Unreal Maps would get anywhere between a 60-90% imho...and this is based on me having not played through unreal in over two years. [maby 3 years actually]
I think some of the custom maps iveplayed capture the expriense of unreal..more than the actual original maps...like hexephet for instance.

As far as I know it's "crappy COOP only type stuff".. I've done a few maps as singleplayer and was pretty bored. It's probably more fun as COOP. (but hey, that's me.. i haven't played all of them)

I don't know who's the author there, but I read somewhere that it was made by DavidM.

Really? How is it inappropriate?
"It set out the very basis for this site" - so why not review it?
"is essentially sacresanct" - you jest, surely

indeed, i have got more memorable moments out of 7B, hexephet, ONP, tower of shakritha then i got out of unreal. I'm sure you would prefer to review custom map packs, as it is what you are supposed to review here. But really, why don't you do a joint review or something? A review of unreal from a site dedicated to reviewing unreal SP would be the most accurate one around (unless bias interferes). It would be something that scholars could cite in later days
