So my gf bought me this for our 1 year anniversary

Nope. Completely the other end of the island (though it looks like Scottish weather)

It looks like the north coast of Cornwall, around the Newquay area, though I have a feeling that may be Tintagel.
In which case the grey sky would be common, as they tend to catch the same foul weather the Irish send to the Welsh.

I live in the warm sheltered bit where we grow palm-trees and sub-tropical plants.
Bloody place is heavin' with pirates half the time. I'm sick to the back-teeth with bloody sea-shanties!
