It's what I was thinking about when I slapped this together.

Taking a primary skin of the Man of Steel and working it as though it were that.

Initially I had an entirely different idea for this map...

...but that was before I realized the XV copters are incapable of carrying flags.

Originally this map had no pathing, Nelsona fixed that as well as add pathing so bots could use Strangelove too (what the map was originally built for) but bots kept flying SLV directly at their own flag so that needed to be removed.

Map is several levels built directly on top of each other, primary means of getting to each level was with some form of flying vehicle. Secondary access is available by teleports & jumppads.

I've noted most who use SLV or RX (or even Rosebum's flying saucer) don't like to play on maps that're well pathed for bots. Something about being worried of getting shot down, which is also why such maps don't typically have much in the way of weapons.

This map has a fair number of weapons on it.

Unique positioning of the flags makes for a more interesting game.

Jumpboots are readily available for getting up there, but transloc works too.

I thank Ojitroc with help on this map, as I can no longer add names to the LevelInfo of the selection window.

A stretch back I made an edit of this edit for XV:

But it wasn't until recently a comment on the XV version from Buggie on how flat it looked made me, however indirectly, realize I never setup this one for downloads.

I don't know how I screwed up the lighting so bad, as I never did that with any other edit of this map. As you can see here...

...this is lighting done right. Not a clue how I screwed it up so badly on the other one.

This map has very limited weapons on it. Original only had ammo for a sniper rifle but no actual rifles anywhere, so I started from there.
· I replaced the ammo with standard and supplied sniper rifles.
· There are rocket launchers on this map.
· Inside each barn is a redeemer.

An old map of ZenCoder's I felt compelled to tweak a bit.

Capture the Flag in an old space station, with definitive Star Wars elements. Forcefields around the edge of the station keep the atmosphere in but aren't strong enough to prevent you from getting outside.

Which would be bad.

I limited weapons in this place, keeping with the theme...

Energetic Skins

Skimming through the SkinCity Database I stumbled across this:

Decent skin, but it has limited team colors. Only red & blue... exactly the type of skin I learned skinning to fix, by giving it all 4.

But skinning animated skins, especially existing ones is tricky. I'm not sure Skinmaker can do that, and I had no luck ever doing so with UnrealEd back when.

However, I suddenly realized I didn't need to fix that as I had an existing version:

2000 or 2001 I found an energetic boss model, and with a little tinkering I adapted it to the Sktrooper. Didn't have to do anything to the .utx but what I did was edit the .int file for the different model type.

Applying that same logic...

...well, you get the idea.

Now, while I'm still tinkering with this it occurs this can be adapted to any UT model. All it takes is some renaming of both files and editing of the .int file.

...and it has papercoffee's favorite shock rifle in it.

What we have here is the Garden of Death for MonsterHunt outfitted with advanced weapons and advanced monsters, most of which are more powerful than the originals and some are downright weird.

Map comes in two flavors, standard and XV...

...although bringing tanks into this isn't going to make it all that much easier.

A reoccurring encounter with Crazy Warlords will happen, an odd variant which has no real attacks. From other edits I've done with them I believe their purpose was to immobilize players by swarming them and holding them stationary so other monsters could kill them. It probably explains why these Warlords have so much health. Each can survive multiple hits even from the most powerful of XV's weapons.

Human players can ignore them for the most part, so long as they don't get too close.

Pride in America
Pride Month is almost over, yet this still happened.

Early on into the month a lot of my searches for other things kept popping up stuff having to do with Pride Month...

...believe I was searching for content for a USagent skin at the time.

Anyway, it got me to thinking and it wasn't long before I had a basic skin and then came the tricky bit with the rainbow pattern around the lower torso. Had to do that 2 segments at a time, using transparencies and an amped up saturation of another torso for each color.

Team Colors had to be bright...

It has 2 faces, one of which may look familiar to some.

Energetic SkTroopers
These are 3 skin sets for the Sktrooper model created by Usaar33 in the original Olskool package.

It will also work for the SkaarjTrooper model in the Unreal1 Models package.

Textures came from an energetic Boss model, which I edited up an .int file for and renamed the .utx file to match... ish.

I vaguely recall there was some difficulty when I set this up (very long time ago) but I can't remember how I got around it. Wish I could as I'm having a difficulty now.

When I tried editing it for the Male Solider & Female Soldier this month it didn't entirely work. For me, as a player model, it works fine... but it's not showing up at all on bots.

I'll probably figure this out eventually, but for now it's very annoying.

I recently got a request from https://www.newbiesplayground.net/dogforum/ to make one of my superhero skins female, which is interesting but not impossible... but I had to play it out.

This is a feminization of the Sewer Mutant, a really old skin that's in the Skin City Database. I'd already been using parts of it for other projects.

CTF-UTDMS-Gateways
This is a fairly well know stargate themed map, which a couple slight alterations.

What we have here is a relatively mediums sized map in 3 parts. There's 2 multi-level bases with an asteroid between them, both bases connected to the asteroid via stargates.

Asteroid is more of an oblong donut with a shieldbelt in a not entirely easy place to access. Or it would be if people weren't shooting at you, anyway.

Each base had a UTDMS guarding it.

There's a slightly more advanced version of this map which I had intended to edit with ut2k4 cannons on top of the stargates on the asteroid end of things, but I lost access to UnrealEd before I could get on that.

If I ever get access again, that's on my shortlist of things to get on immediately.

Super Villains: Homelander & Red Skull
Homelander I was building up to doing for awhile, getting the pieces for weeks... and then I slapped it together pretty easily over the course of a single afternoon.

Mostly perfect. Debated about using a transparency for the starfield on the back, but decided it wasn't necessary.

Red Skull I did awhile ago, and have been subtly tweaking it a little here and there over several months.

Limited team colors, obviously the Hydra version as the original was very not appropriate.

Tried lessening the intensity of the red for the skull, but couldn't find a way to do so without it going pink.

I initially made 2 dozen edits of this with a whole bunch of different monsters, but then scaled it back down to just these two.

· Flies because it's more of a challenge if they can get upstairs to attack players directly.
· Imps because I think they're particularly cool but they seem underused.

Even though the imps are stuck in the basement...

Planetary Union
A fun series, The Orville was a highly silly series that was loosely based along similar lines as Star Trek.

I say "was" as there seems to be some doubt there will be another season, though we're all hoping.

Not everyone would agree with that, but of a number of series based on Trek... this one was a bit more that way than others; and I'm including Andromeda in there.

For those unfamiliar:


Now this skin is the Planetary Union, which is the space faring organization of the planet Earth involving a coalition of various sentient species. You know, that whole thang. Team colors are good but I had to make some alterations to fit UT. Like the orange uniforms presented an issue as UT needs a Gold Team and orange as a team color is a little too close to red... so that's more of a rust-yellow for this.

The badges were an issue, I was hoping to find a good Orville forum which had smilies of the various classifications for the series but that never worked. Then thought about doing different smilies for each color, but that didn't pan out either.

Rather than do a fresh edit for the Female version...

...I re-mapped the male skin to fit over the female model, which mostly worked except for that bit on the collar.

Still, not bad overall.
