Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
Nice and all, but isn't this Multiplayer Matters? Not really SP related.
Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
Forum does allow for non-SP content, hence the number of MonsterHunt maps posted here and whatnot.Lightning Hunter wrote:Nice and all, but isn't this Multiplayer Matters? Not really SP related.
On a side note, I think the guy that released that U2Skaarj uses something similar to your enhanced texture mods, as it looks fuzzy on my system.
Also, the U2Skaarj is from an SP: Unreal2.

Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
I'm not talking about the entire forum. I'm talking about the particular section you posted this in, which is "Projects", and has the following description:evilgrins wrote:Forum does allow for non-SP content, hence the number of MonsterHunt maps posted here and whatnot.Lightning Hunter wrote:Nice and all, but isn't this Multiplayer Matters? "For discussion and promotion of Unreal Engine single-player campaigns, mapping projects and total conversions." A skin that is used in Multiplayer UT99 does not fit this description. All of the MonsterHunt maps you refer to (as well as every multiplayer skin ever posted on this forum) are in the "Multiplayer Matters" section here:
http://www.unrealsp.org/viewforum.php?f=6
That is where you should put this topic.
Does my UnrealHD mod look fuzzy on your system? If so, I need some more info so I can find a fix. I can't fix something if nobody tells me any information (system specs, render being used, .ini file information, etc.) The UnrealHD mod is not fuzzy on my system, nor was it fuzzy for any of the beta testers. On a side note, I think the guy that released that U2Skaarj uses something similar to your enhanced texture mods, as it looks fuzzy on my system.
It is from U2 SP, but has been converted to UT99 Multiplayer. That is not SP content. The reason I posted UnrealHD in the Projects section is because I specifically made the skins for SinglePlayer, not Multiplayer. Also, the U2Skaarj is from an SP: Unreal2.
Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
Last month I posted someone else's SkaarjWarrior Player model in this same section, nobody said a thing about it.
That'd be this · http://www.unrealsp.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4103
Also posted this · http://www.unrealsp.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4107
And this · http://www.unrealsp.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4093
There's also mapping projects being presented in this section that have nothing to do with SP that no one else said anything about them being in the wrong place.
Sorry, didn't realize it was an issue.

Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
I wasn't trying to make such a big deal out of it (sorry if it seems so), but this forum definitely used to have stricter policies. I am just surprised no moderators have moved your threads. If none of the moderators care, then I won't say anything else on the matter either.
I am really interested in what you said about UnrealHD having fuzzy skins though. Could you please give more details so I can investigate? Do the skins not appear correctly on your computer?

S'okay.
I can do better, cut & paste what he said:

Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
Having his settings does not help me at all, since his skin looks fine. I need your settings, to determine what is wrong, since you have the blurry skins.
Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
Mine are standard default UT settings, and as I'm at work I can't get them to you until later.

Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
I'll wait until you give them to me, because the "standard default" settings can vary from computer to computer. Also, the default settings will usually not work with large skins using the default settings. Also, most people need the new UTGLR drivers for high-res skins to work properly.evilgrins wrote:Mine are standard default UT settings, and as I'm at work I can't get them to you until later.
Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
No blur here, but some issues with seams (and clipping!). OGL, not D3D.

Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
I detailed an easy skinning recommend to Nephew on how to fix the seams in the original thread.Carbon wrote:No blur here, but some issues with seams (and clipping!). OGL, not D3D.
Sad as this is (woke up late and rushing to work) I don't know which of these is the one so I copied the text of them all.Lightning Hunter wrote:I'll wait until you give them to me, because the "standard default" settings can vary from computer to computer.

Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
What is listed under the [Engine.Engine] block of code in "GameRenderDevice"? That will tell you which render you are using.
Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
I'm guessing it's D3D. Maybe "DetailTextures=False" should be "true". Or maybe your renderer is too vanilla? I don't know what renderer you are using, but maybe you just installed the game and just started playing but the skin in question depends on using an updated D3D renderer.
Your R7 isn't the most powerful card, but it should be able to handle more than you currently use regarding visual quality settings. Update your renderers and change the appropriate .ini settings; it will look better overall and I suspect that the skin will look normal as well.

Re: Unreal2 Skaarj for ut99
What Carbon said. As for updating the render, get the UTGLR drivers here for UT99:
