Subject: [Request] Unreal 1 models in OBJ or 3DS format

Post Posted: 06 Jul 2023, 16:39

Hi everyone! \o/

My first post here, so please excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong subforum. Pls move to appropriate section if neccessary.

I am kindly asking for one of either of these two things:

1. Models from Unreal 1 exported to OBJ format or 3DS format. Without animations, preferably default or walk animation.
- All player models
- Skaarj Trooper
- Skaarj Warrior
- Mercenary
- Gasbag
- Krall

2. Link to some tutorial or explanation on how to do it myself, cuz I got no clue. :D

The reason I'm asking for this is that I wish to create my own skins for these models. I can export the textures, but I need to import the models into some kind of 3d software (I have those) and constantly update the skin on the 3d preview as I'm working on it in Photoshop to make it all go smooth like peanut butter on bread.

Mighty thanks!

Yo!

With the 227 patch installed, open Ued2.2 which is located within Unreal Gold\System or Unreal Gold\System64 (depending on which version you wish to use), you can then open the mesh browser an export each desired model to .obj from the File menu inside the mesh browser. Let me know if you have any issues.

Sorry. I forgot to mention I'm using Unreal Tournament.
Is there a 227 patch for that?
I don't really have Unreal Gold.

Ow,

For UT the latest patch is 469c (I think), but 469 focuses more on compatibility vs the new features which 227 implements for UGold. I'm not sure if the 469 editor is able to export meshes to .obj. If not, i'll see if i can export those meshes as .obj for you in a little bit.

Sorry. I installed the 469 patch but I can't find the export mesh command. All I can do is save them as .u package.
Can you help me out, please?
