Strong progress continues on VVV. I need to spend an evening working on the lighting (I haven't done any lighting yet), but after that the build will be at about 20% - which is about right for Week 1. Also, the last 20% of the build is optional - just an impressive exit area, which I may not bother with.
I remain pretty happy with my work so far.

Can you please show a pic of the topview of your map? Because I think it's interesting for everyone which minimum of length should be built. In 6 weeks (soon 5) it's difficult to make a long map which is also beautiful. I only want to know what are 20 % of your map...

e D: There is no recommended length. Planning a map that you know you can create within the six week timeframe is all part of the challenge. It will inevitably vary from person to person.

A little confused by the implication here... but I gave what I had of Above the Clouds to TESUK ages ago - he said he would finish it (he hasn't, of course). Recently, my thoughts have turned to how I might go about finishing it myself (it would have to be split into several maps), but I don't suppose I'll ever really get around to it.Mister_Prophet wrote:Hey if you don't do it...one day you might get a random .unr from me

Oh, I was only implying that this might have been a good opportunity to do so (you gave me a copy of it once too, and I do glance at it occasionally and think about how I could finish it for you, if I had the time. I have seen how I could do it as one map, with a few changes).
In either case, my main comment was that I'm looking forward to a Hellscrag map

Interesting. AtC is a particularly intricate map, though, and I think I would need far more than six weeks to finish it - besides which, the large amount of build that DOES exist wouldn't exactly comply with the "two room rule".Mister_Prophet wrote:Oh, I was only implying that this might have been a good opportunity to do so (you gave me a copy of it once too, and I do glance at it occasionally and think about how I could finish it for you, if I had the time. Glad you're looking forward to the map - hope it doesn't disappoint!

Update - I've added light and sound, and can confirm that the build is now at 20% - plus, of course, the map has really sprung to life.
As stated previously, the last 20% of the build is optional... but the gameplay is currently at 0% (that will come after the build, and I have some good ideas for it).

No progress on Fri or Sat as I was busy doing other things.
Difficult to quantify my progress today, as I'm doing a lot of big structural work that will contribute towards all of the next 20% of the map. More in due course...

Oy, guys. He knows what he's doing. I do the classic mistake showing everything while I create that, and there's no surprise later.Waffnuffly wrote:Yeah me too, c'mon man, give us some eye candy! Even a subtracted cube :IUBerserker wrote:Waiting for some shots!
If Hellscrag decided to show no shots, fine by me...
