This is absolutely amazing news. This should definitely be posted on the news node

EDIT: I just got word from the man himself that he will be releasing the UT99 betas on November 21st of this year!

It also has Unreal 2 old stuff, and I'm really interested in that. Maybe all of this is true, because I know who is the person that got hold of the betas/alphas, as he lives near the Digital Extreme offices.

It's more Digital Extremes stuff than anything else, though.

I'm talking to the guy personally on MSN. (Not GreatEmerald...the one who actually has all these alphas/betas) This is no joke. He knows way to much for it to be a joke. His dad knows Mark Rein and James Shmalz personally, which is why he has access to all this. He's even going to mail me the 5 1/2 " floppy disc for me to convert it, since he doesn't have a drive for it.

5¼" floppies held less than 1MB. They were also already obsolete back when your typical PC had a 16MHz processor and 1MB of RAM (if that). I really don't see how an Unreal beta could be stored on that medium.

It was a pre-release alpha actually...and it was only 80kb. And no UBersker his nick does not start with an "R"....I have no idea who you mean by that either.

The U2 thingy Has to be Real since.. My former friend long ago told me before I got U2 that you could have the Skaarj Claws in it... And what does GE say? that they are in the Unreleased version.. This is like what? 5-6-7 years ago that friend told me about it, and when I got the game. Bam! no claws D:

It's already legal...read the original post on Oldunreal. The 10 year contract expired...atleast for Unreal. UT99's will expire November 21st. But he could technically release the Unreal betas and alphas right now with no consequences. He still needs to get them all together first. Also he's in the middle of moving, which is why he needs to wait till after he's done moving sometime in July.

Jeese nobody here has any faith...and UBerserker I still don't get your sarcasm...unless your talking about my real name...

Once I get some of these betas/alphas (yes im actually getting one right now but I can't say which) I'll post some screenies...

If it's 80kB, then there can't be any graphical or audio content to speak of. So exactly what kind of "alpha" is this? (My latest backup of UnrealSP's automated news page alone is 60kB.)
