At the end you get a hint warning about a powerful enemy guarding the exit, which is odd because there doesn't seem to be anything worse than usual there, and since the hints are only on Easy and Normal it's not like it's something for the higher settings either. I guess it's a leftover from an ...

One of the first 3 custom maps I've ever played, being infinitely better than the other two.
It was a unique sight, or a unique piece of Unreal history floating in my head but the first thing that pops in my mind was the fact that til I played that level long ago there wasn't a water zone that could ...

I only played Morene.
It is surely very unique looking but it's the embodiment of an "intro"-type playable map. The whole thing felt like an intro to something that never happened, I swear at one point early on I thought I had to fight a Queen since you hear her sounds playing from afar but there's ...

The fourth custom map I have ever played (first three being Skaarjcity, Liberation of Na Pali and Expertvisuals) and the first time I got to hear Newmca16, which at the time I thought it was a custom track but had no clue it was unused retail music instead - and to this day it's unknown for which ...

This is what the map looks like now (in that playable thrown demo I released some months ago - I think I changed some stuff since these shots are giga old, just reposting)

Map and and the mini campaign are still surviving extremely well the aging. It has become more noticeable since playing The One, the skybox in particular feels strange because the sky is really bright and the mountains are pitch black.

Other than that, this is the one map which is the core of the custom level concept of having a huge place to break into from a large outdoor/explorable area. Concept often found in Waff maps and mine as well, though this one really plays into the "breaking into" strat as the way inside isn't clear ...

I have to admit, I am curious about the later levels once G59 found it's own style, but EXU2 gameplay is not my personal preference.
Mainly more original content visual-wise and the gameplay shifts from swarmy to way less dense, fighting mostly new units. Closer to Unreal in a sense.

Well can't believe I'd be writing patch notes in 2024 but there we are, had to adjust some stuff of the package I posted above:
Replaced the two Krall pawns that could potentially soft lock the game in Limbo before the ending area with four Gasbags (the purple Agidyne ones)

Lemme see if I can cook up something quick these days and release the reworked versions of these that I never released (as a completely separated thing cuz legit no idea what files they even used) as Limbo has shittons of new visuals all over the place to the point of becoming unrecognizable

Re: [u1] Unreal Alpha and Beta version discussion
I still can't believe Striders were supposed to look like an alien race version of FF's Molboros, then to be fair all the early enemy designs got a noticeable overhaul so they might ended up being different if they weren't cut early on - whatever remains of meshes related to them resembled Zerg ...
