"Legacy" Tips: Triaxia

Custom Map Tips

Legacy: "Triaxia"

Scenario: You find yourself here more than once. The first time you enter, you are after a prototype weapon that the Skaarj have created. The second time, well, you're not here because you planned it.

(If you have entered Triaxia through the main door...)

Triaxia 1: I have a strategy that I like to use. At the beginning of the level, I mark a point near the entrance with the Warp Key after I kill the Skaarj Berserker (or Berserkers) nearby. This allows me to return to this area after going through what might otherwise be considered a one-way passage.

Triaxia 2: If you are playing Legacy on at least Hard difficulty level, you may notice an abundance of Skaarj Berserkers. You can turn this to your advantage by luring them in the direction of some of the Skaarj Troopers and each other.

Triaxia 3: The teleporter near the crusher brings in a few Skaarj Assassins if you kill any of the Berserkers on that level. Kill all of the Berserkers quickly, then try to deal with the Assassins separately.

Triaxia 4: This is definitely the time to bring this up. Did you know that the Sniper Railgun can shoot through solid objects? This saves a little work when trying to take out some of the Skaarj Troopers in this area.

Triaxia 5: After you have what you came for, take the extra effort to get rid of all the monsters in the last few areas. Trust me, at a later time, you'll be glad you did.

(If you have entered Triaxia through a portal...)

Triaxia 6: You are about to face a Warlord, just as that Skaarj directive mentioned. There are a few things to think about with these weapons: use the Tri-Shotgun for the majority of the battle, since it's an instant hit weapon. The Railgun is a good choice if you're all the way across the room from him. If he's just standing and firing at you, throw one or two Sticky Bombs without the spikes. The Skaarj Pulse Gun is good if he's retreating. Do not use the Chaingun, because you really need to be able to dodge his rockets. Also, don't use the Smart Disk, since it's attracted to his rockets.

Triaxia 7: After you kill the Warlord, if you can't figure out where the other switches are, then remember that the Skorcher's alt-fire causes you to use it as a rocket pack. Fly up and check out the high platforms to get to other buttons.
Triaxia 8: Enter this open passage and look up. You'll notice that you can barely see to the top, even with the Railgun's scope! It looks like you're going to be flying with the Skorcher again.

While going straight up, you'll find two platforms to land on and collect more kerosene. Save your game at the second one, because there's some kind of bug in the room at the top that will kill you instantly unless you're very careful.
