"Silence envelopes you..."

My DV favorite map! Well, when there's something about silence, Mothership Extreme and new enemy types, I just go up and down. After seeing the author name (who made Xidia and 7B) you'll probably get scared of the difficulty. But this time not, as this map is one of the easiest and probably the most relaxing as well.
You start after the teleport journey and find yourself in this temple belonging to Eldora. Progress through the chambers, open the door you see with the button on the left, and go to the decayed corridor. There's a body on the left here, with a Searchlight, two Flak Boxes and a message:

"Morse, journal: I don't understand it, the Skaarj computer on the teleporter said that this was the location of an important outpost. The coordinates are correct, but all that is here are some old ruins. Why here? This place is dead..."

Proceed to the dark corridor on the right, where you'll find three NHPs before its entrance. You arrive at a dead end. Press the square on the right and touch the door to open it. Now you are in the first Xidia-like room of the level. There are some goodies behind the crates on the right, consisting of a Razor Ammo, an ASMD Core and a Sludge Ammo. Near the second crate on the left there's a ShellBox. Now climb the ledge to the button, and save the game before it. Also equip the Flak Cannon. When you press it...

Strong Enemies Fight:
1)Skaarj Protector
Health: 300
Difficulty: Attacks: Same as a Skaarj Berserker (20 for claw attacks and 40 for spin and lunge)
Description: A high class of Skaarj Warriors. They have grey skins and have particular strong Raziks (the hand blades). Their role is protecting the Skaarj Elder.
2)Skaarj Praetorian Trooper - Eightball
Health: 580
Difficulty: Attacks: Use Eightball and has enhanced damage for the melee attacks (30 for spin and claw attack, 35 for lunge)
Description: Troopers of a class of Skaarj named Praetorians. They have incredible strength and skill, and they look like are always covered with blood. They serve the Skaarj Elder and command the various Skaarj Protectors of the area.

This is the map's hardest fight. You're pitted in a closed room against a Skaarj Protector and a mad SPT with an Eightball, and he has accuracy and speed. You firstly have to kill the Protector. He exit from the door near the button, which should be on your left. As he exit, he'll chase you on the ledge like an idiot, so run backwards (opposite side and beneath the wall, so you'll have higher chances to avoid SPT's rockets and throw at him Flak Shells until he dies (three or four and he's dead). If you didn't sustain much damage from the SPT's mad shots, save the game and don't move from your ledge, always with the Flak Cannon. The miniboss is completely mad as he strafe a lot, not to mention shoot rockets with incredible aim. You have to imitate him, by strafing and dodge his attacks (stay away from wall or the rocket explosions will hurt you) and throw Flak Shells at him accurately when he isn't strafing. He likes to stay in the middle part, but when you damage him enough he'll get angry and run to you. If he does this, dodge in the middle and continue the assault. If you spent to much Flak Shells (try not to waste more than 12 of them, Protector battle included) pass to the Automag. He doesn't have lots of health. The fights shouldn't be anyway that hard... just a generic tough battle made of dodges and accuracy.

After the SPT is dead, return to the corridor where you entered the dark pathway (now illuminated) and go to the Chizra-like door, at the end of this place. There's an inscription near the door:

"Eldora arose from the ashes of the chaotic time, bringing order to Na Pali. With law established, Eldora gave the Nali people the role of keeping the land peaceful. The White Temple was built to honor Eldora. Every 50 years, Eldora's Gaze washes the sky as the two suns meet and shine onto the holy courtyard."

Proceed in the next corridor where you'll find other three NHPs. The next room is also empty, but take note of the balcony before the staircase on the right, as it is your helper in the next fights. Enter the enormous Skaarj corridor. On the right, there's a body with an ASMD and two ASMD Core, plus a message:

"Jaunie, diary: They got me, snuck up on us. Proph treated my injury and carried me as Maekh had point, but Proph decided that he go ahead and look for a way out since Maekh and I were hurt. Brave guy, stupid as shit, but brave. He has been gone for awhile, I wonder what he found out there..."

On the left there's a Kevlar Suit (NOTE: If you still have the super KS from the previous map and the two Skaarj weren't intelligent enough to send it below 100 DON'T GET IT. Although you have to save this for the end, so don't get it all!), another body, a Minigun, four ShellBox and another message:

"Maekh, journal: Me and Jaunie uncovered a hidden outpost inside this "White Temple". Proph went ahead of us, he is looking for an escape route, where we think Willis went.. Jaunie took a slug from one of those red bastards, me and Proph nearly died killing the thing. I hope he makes it back for us in time, I'm getting pretty tired."

Now for the fights. The corridor is guarded by five Skaarj Protectors and a patrolling SPT, but you'll never fight all of them in a row. The first guys to die are two Skaarj Protectors, clearly the one in front of you, at the left of the crate (fully visible), and one hidden behind the room on the right. Don't advance, just equip Rifle and kill from distance the first Skaarj Protector mentioned. This may alert the second one, which will came out and chase you like hell. Normally he's alerted if you continue to walk in the corridor. To fight this guy just lure him in the previous room and hide yourself on the famous balcony I talked before, before the staircase on the right. The Skaarj has AI problems regarding chasing you on the ledge, so you can shoot him with the Automag from above, but be careful to his projectiles. Sometimes the Skaarj manages to ascend the staircase, but he can be stopped by shooting him like mad. If he succeed, pass to the RazorJack and decapitate him. Now return in the big corridor and advance (the room where the previously killed Skaarj was hiding has nothing), where you'll find another Skaarj Protector on the right, behind a crate. At the start he'll completely ignore you (so shoot him with the Automag of Minigun if you want) and opens the door where the Skaarj was hiding. Then he'll start the assault, and a bad one too if you damaged him enough during the scripted sequence. Just use the same strategy as before. Save the game and go to the first turn of the tunnel. You'll finally see the patrolling SPT. If he hasn't spotted you already, you can try to snipe his head for a good start (you have the time for two shots). He'll chase you, helped by a Skaarj Protector (sometimes there's also a second, which is the last one). The latter one is the less coward, so you can firstly finish him with ASMD shots and one or two Flak Shells. For the SPT, use your Rifle, ASMD and Flak Shells, by using also the same strategy for the Skaarj killed in the previous room, although this may be harder for the Eightball. The second Protector mentioned above is near the end of the area and he's easy as hell. Just be patient. Once he's killed, refill Health and ammo with the stuff you left in the map and proceed (don't get the KS if you still have the old one's armor over 100). While in the Skaarj corridor, you can spot another room on the right containing a SuperHealth, a Rifle Ammo and a Rocket Can. The third room contains nothing as it's closed. Go to the end and use the lift to go to the courtyard. Behind you there are two seeds into vases while near the edge a Rifle, a Flak Box, a Rocket Can and a message from the body:

"Willis, journal: Found the others but they were already dead. Saw Proph enter the teleporter but he vanished before I could call out, dunno where he went. The Elder is close, I know it. Dunno how old he is, but there is no doubt in my mind that the Elder commands these bastards."

Save the game and jump in the courtyard, with the ASMD equipped.

Boss Fight: Skaarj Elder
Health: 2320
Difficulty: Attacks:
1)Warlord Rockets (60 health per perfect hit): usual Warlord rockets, easy to avoid through retreating and dodging.
2)Erebus Strike (200 health): the true face of the Skaarj Elder strength. An insta-hit melee attack which can kill you if you don't have armors or adequate protections. Just don't be dumb and stay away from the boss... AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!!!
Description:
An old Skaarj Warlord with incredible physical strength. He commands the troops of Location Z-14 and Kra'filnish valley. No one knows what he wants.

He's pretty much a pushover in every sense, unless you have: bad accuracy, don't retreat, don't dodging, eating all the rockets, getting way too close, don't shoot and staying near him and getting killed by his Erebus Strike (my name anyway). LOL :)
Ok, the simplest strategy is this: once he comes from the hole in the middle, shoot him like mad with ASMD laser shots, while running around the arena and dodging coming rockets (watch out at his shooting tricks). Your shots will slow him down, not for the damage, but because he fly-dodges (almost without a point). It will end up that you'll be a Km far from him. If he manages to fly near you (which usually happens), try to dodge consecutive times and confuse him by going around one of the pillars. You just need to shoot 40 ASMD laser blasts, 50 bullets from the Automag and ten Flak Shells. Use even lock-on rockets if you want (from a far distance though). He's just easy. After tons of punishment, he'll teleport away. If something is going wrong, you can always save yourself with three NHPs found in the terrain area of courtyard.

Proceed to the staircase which will lead you to the teleport room. After the entrance, you can check on the right for an opened crate containing four Health, a Rocket Can and a ShellBox. Activate the button on the other side for the teleport, plus a message:

"Teleporter 7-X4, emergency unit: Coordinates 236572-AD2, The Source emergency beacon."

Go now in the portal to find yourself in a dark Skaarj corridor. Proceed in the corridor and turn to the right into an opened vent hole. You'll find yourself in a decayed area illuminated by a Flare. Here you'll find a PowerShield, a Minigun, a Flak Cannon, four ASMD Cores, a enhanced ScubaGear and the last message of the pack:

"Prophet, log entry: Saw a blue light, thought it was an angel coming for me. Never believed in God, but that is what it looked like. Then I could smell it, I knew right away it was one of those CryoSkaarj. They use the Tarydium...those bastards, they suck it from those damned rocks and inject into their own warriors. Look like ghosts almost. They come for me, like phantoms. I'm not afraid really, I just feel bad about Jaunie and the others....they were waiting for me. Sorry guys, but I don't think I'm coming home."

Now follow the opened tunnel and you'll discovery that you are just in the escape room of the godlike Source of Unreal. There's water below now. Jump in the pool and search for an hole illuminated by four lights. Follow the tunnel (the Biterfishes here are friendly) until you'll find yourself in front of another escape room with the same ship that you used in the original Unreal to escape. Jump in the area below the hole, which is the one you'll use for the last fight.

Final Boss: Skaarj Elder
Health: 2030
Difficulty: Attacks: Same as before.
Description:
The Skaarj Elder is still living like an aggressive Titan after his first heavy defeat. He'll do anything to stop you, using also the aid of the Cryo Skaarj.
Guests: Cryo Skaarj (10 of them)
Health: 275
Difficulty: Attacks: Same as a Skaarj Protector
Descriptions:
Skaarj Protectors that ingested Tarydium's radiation power. This will make them less durable but faster. They serve the Skaarj Elder for the last battle, unless if shot by the boss.

The last battle is on the easy side. Stay in the area where you fell, equip the Rifle and snipe the Skaarj Elder on the head until he comes near you, along with two Cryo Skaarj. When the boss is nearby, switch to the GBR or Flak Cannon to heavily damage him while running in circles. Cryo Skaarj get a lot in the way of you and the boss; so there will be enemy battles, where you can help the Cryo Skaarj pitted against the Elder or just destroy the other one who's bothering you. Every dead CS gives you Health Packs, and there are ten of them. Although you just have to kill the boss firstly. Never let him comes near you (if he hits you with the Strike, it's game over as the Cryo Skaarj will easily kill you then) and spam Shells and slimes onto him like there's no end. If he starts to retreat (Skaarj Elder heavily damaged then), use Rifle again. You just need to watch out at the coming Cryo Skaarj, so don't be near the portals that they use to appear and kill quickly the boss.

Once he's dead, just stay near the starship on the middle for a while to finish the map. If you want to end all the other Cryo Skaarj, stay away from the centre and use Automag, ASMD and Rifle. Map ends... DV 2 ends!

Congratulations! You beaten DV2 on Unreal difficulty! Now go play Xidia and 7B :)
The end (which is somewhat bugged) will follow. I'll not spoil it to you. Although... well just see it for yourself :P
