Phat! Really, that's not what I expected to be ever realized in Unreal. I hold you in high esteem for your mapping skills.

Thanks guys :>

lol - actually, the only accessible island is the one in the middle (and the little one with the guard tower on it seen in Shot 5). Everything else is a 25% scale island in a 3D skybox, including the entirety of the lava :)

3D skyboxes are magical.

Don't worry, though; even that one island with the air base on it takes up almost 75% of the buildable world area, with the terrain area's borders stretching to the limit. It's about as big as the missile base map.

Ah.. Still a jetpack would fit well on that island. Or maybe its just the fact that I recently beat 'PilotWings' for the N64 and I'm still feeling the affects of the awesome experience. But I must say, visually this map definitely reminds me of a demented PilotWings map.

Oh man I loved that game. I remember playing it at an arcade a long time ago on some special machine that was built for it, where you pedaled a gyrocopter thing around a huge open area. Was a lot of fun! Unless that was some other game, but I know I've played Pilot Wings before too.

I know UA has wanted to make a jetpack, but I don't think there will ever be one officially part of the EXU2 campaign. But don't worry, some of the Jump Boots upgrades you get are nearly as good :p

[Edit] Also, using a jetpack on a map like this would turn you into shredded beef in seconds once all the anti-air batteries caught wind of you, assuming the fighters didn't slaughter you first :p

Wow. That's cool to find another PilotWings fan from Unreal. The small group that I make mods and some maps with have been talking about developing a PilotWings type mod for Unreal. Not sure when it will take flight, but when it does I'll be sure to keep you and any other PilotWings fans from Unreal informed on the details. Hell, some EXU maps like these could be included with permission. Where did you get the textures for the airstrips?

Most of it is the SGTech1 concrete texture, and then a bunch of yellow brushes shaped accordingly using one of the bright yellow base textures from Starship.utx. The white paint texture was whipped up by UA in a few minutes and it's been added to EXU2EvilizedTexes.utx and will probably show up in the next patch.

Glad to hear it worked,

You may want to include it in the final release, as aside of coop compatibility, it gives server admins the possibility to host EXU2 fully functional on Linux servers too.

It also allows players on unix operating systems, if any, to actually play EXU, without MP3 support of cource, since AFAIK, there's no linux version of RMusicPlayer.

For Windows servers however, it's only useful if they have a redirect, else there's no point in having it.

That map looks great btw, I can imagine a group of players flying around there with the ecoop jets, firing at a squadron of blood princesses :D.

No problem at all :D The shots are still amazing  I am curious how you pulled off that 3d Skybox thing though, if the entirety of the lava is in the skybox as well... Must see when it comes out.

UA's got a download link and I've got that and a file I made from compiling code both Waff and UA gave me a while ago. It also comes with EXU2 but with the separate packages, you can use it and use it around on non-exu2 maps to save on your people downloading the entirety of EXU2. It's really cool when used correctly, too.
