I'd make the heat streaks much, MUCH more subtle, like scaleglow 0.2 or so instead of what looks like 1.0 or even 2.0. That and make the flak chunks themselves look hotter, like they do in UT (which is clearly the effect you're going for). Note the chunks in UT start out nearly white-hot and then fade to their usual metal texture, which I think is mostly due to the ChunkTrail texture but could also be accomplished with an overlay on each individual chunk.

Although, honestly, I'd probably ditch the heat streaks entirely. They don't look even remotely realistic while the other effects have been pretty good.

Yeah, it looks pretty, but really changes the feel of the flak cannon. It's too close to UT

v0.2 to v0.3:

Added:

-HDFlakCannon projectiles, trail, smoke, glow, lighting, and spark effects
-HDAutomag
-HDMinigun

-New bullet hit effects including sparks and smoke
-New smoke trail for fired shell casings

Removed:

-Stinger explode animation upon wall impact. no longer needed nor makes sense with actual shards now
-old stinger glow class (unused)

-UnrealWepsHD.u renamed to HDWeps.u
-Stinger chips brightened and color adjusted slightly to better match original stinger shard
-HDFlakCannon trail new texture, shorter, dimmer, fades faster
-Minor changes to all smoke trail effects to make them a bit more solid and realistic
-Changed all glow effects to destroy themselves when projectile gets destroys. Fixes any hanging that may occur on some effects

-Rocket smoke trail being broken apart in different places and sections
-Biogel glow would hang sometimes after projectile was destroyed

No unfortunately I don't have a bullet tracer effect implimented yet...only the bullet hit effects. And yes this is still going to lag and drop your FPS like hell probably until 227i comes out. =P

I'm really liking this, but I don't really see much difference in the automag fire, unless the smoke is new?

Yeah only the hit effects have changed for bullets on Automag, Rifle, and Minigun. plus the added smoke to shell casings =p
