Dj Vu v2.0 Teaser Shots 23 November 2003 Hellscrag
Five screenshots of Dj Vu v2.0 are now available as a site feature. The mod is progressing nicely, although its development has been further protracted by the addition of extra maps. Any thoughts you have on the mod can be directed to its development thread on our forums.
Project Thread Updates 20 November 2003 Hellscrag
Knowing how much y'all like screenshots, I thought I'd let you know that DarthWeasel added a few new screenshots of his "Axiom Shift" pack to his project thread. Also making the news is our own Dj Vu pack, which is now headed for a version 2.0 release instead of a version 1.1 release, with the addition of extra maps by MMAN UGITU, zynthetic and Drevlin - plus a replacement being worked on for the "placeholder" that was USP-09-TechnoJF in the v1.01 release. Drevlin has posted a few screens of his work on the map, which look promising. For more info, see the latest posts on the Dj Vu development thread.
Morene Reviewed 18 November 2003 Hellscrag
I took the time to knock together a quick review of ThickAsABrick's recently released map, Morene. You can find the review here. Additionally, I also updated Upcoming Maps to reflect the map's release; said page now boasts a "Recently Released" section for maps released in recent months, and a "Recently Deleted" section for maps that have fallen by the wayside.
Morene Released! 16 November 2003 Hellscrag
ThickAsABrick has released his first UT SP map, Morene. The map, while short, is great work for a novice mapper. You can download it from UnrealSPVault.Org here. If you want to offer the mapper your feedback, pay a visit to Morene's project thread on the UnrealSP forums.
Mappage News Roundup 12 November 2003 Hellscrag
Things are looking busy at the moment and Upcoming Maps has had to be updated again! Many of the mappers are using our forums to report their progress, which is exactly what I had hoped would happen when I opened this site, so it's great news. Anyway, here are just some of the developments to be reported:
- News has come to light of a new project by DarthWeasel entitled "Axiom Shift". There are some pretty cool screenshots available.
- Dj Vu v1.1 continues to develop slowly. The release now really depends on zynthetic, who is making good progress with extra map, and MMAN UGITU, who reports that the final stages of his map are progressing "glacially". Well, keep that ice moving MMAN!
- TheEmperorStalwartUK continues to work on Return to Mars, but has announced that he will be known from now on just as StalwartUK (or SUK for short).
- Finally, DarthVader has released very early shots of "Stranded" - they show progress, although lighting would be a good addition to have.
For more information on any of these projects, see the new web site / project thread links on the Upcoming Maps page.
Upcoming Maps Update 9 November 2003 Hellscrag
Tidbits for the Upcoming Maps page - TESUK sent in a proper in-game shot for Return to Mars, and I added Unreal Zero: Cats 2, Spentron's second Unreal map, to the list of projects underway.
Happy Bonfire Night 5 November 2003 Hellscrag
To anybody setting off fireworks for Guy Fawkes Night this evening, have a great time, and be careful!

Neutron has announced the development of "The Nightmare's Beginning", a small map he will be working on in his spare time. The map has been added to the Upcoming Maps page, with a promo image that can be found in full-sized form on the map's project thread.
Projects Come and Go 3 November 2003 Hellscrag
Willis and Gringoloco's "History of Nak'ta" pack will no longer be made, but it has been replaced by a new project entitled "Leave None Behind". This project is now listed on Upcoming Maps, and has a project thread on the forums here.
7 Bullets Release Info 3 November 2003 Hellscrag
Mr. Prophet sent me the following promo information on the upcoming pack "7 Bullets". The official release blurb is as follows:
"7 Bullets I'll give to God when I go to heaven, when he asks me to answer for my sins."
7 Bullets is a Red Nemesis Production, in association with Unrealsp.Org and Team Phalanx. It follows the character Jones, several years after the events that took place in Xidia Gold, Team Phalanx's explosive Single Player debut in late '02. Picking up from where the Xidia left off, 7 Bullets takes Jones to Na Pali, the planet from the original Unreal.
7 Bullets includes a modified arsenal and set of new features, as coded by UsAar33, the Unreal scripting prodigy who coded ONP, Legacy, and Xidia Gold. The project is created and lead by Team Phalanx mapper and Nali City Reviewer, Will-"Mr.Prophet"-Drekker and his team, which includes the talents of such community members like James-"eVOLVE"-Hamer-Morton (worked on ONP and various voice acting and Unreal Film projects), Kevin-"Waffnuffly"-Letz (who made Attacked and worked on UnrealSP.org's Deja Vu: Gryphon Revisited), as well as Kimberly-"Rogue"-Perry (Deja Vu, various projects including Fiction writing) and others.
No release date has been set, but the game should be out in a few months, it is longer than the original "Xidia Incident" segment from Xidia Gold and will be released for UT. The game, like Xidia Gold, pushes the boundaries of the UT engine to its fullest.
A few promo shots are also available; full-sized versions of these can be found at the Team Phalanx site. The project now has a hosted forum here.
