Site News News archived and new category icons 29 June 2005 Hellscrag

As per a request from Hyper.nl, I have introduced a new system of icons that categorise our news by topic; this system has been retro-fitted onto news back as far as April. If you are unclear on the meaning of any category icon, hover your pointer over it for an explanation. I have also taken the opportunity to archive another six months of news, which should reduce your download size for the main page.

Secondly, mrbond113 has launched a new colaborative UT SP project known as Devastation - this project, although currently at the embryonic stage, is staffed by mrbond113 and additional mappers McTerry and Daniel.

Site News Fan Art Unreal Tournament UnrealSP.Org's Fourth Anniversary 21 June 2005 Hellscrag

Yep, it's that time of year again! Whilst there may be no new version of Dj Vu on offer this year, check out instead some of the following neat new site content:

Firstly, a big welcome to new staff member Reciprocity, who will be conducting regular interviews with mappers, authors and project leaders out in the Unreal SP community. Both Reciprocity and I have grilled someone for tonight, and so the two first entries into the new Interviews section are:

  • An interview with Mr. Prophet regarding Residual Decay; and
  • An interview with UArchitect regarding Dark Territory.

Secondly, I have produced a total of four new and updated reviews. They are the following:

Thirdly, and late in the day, we have been able to open our new Fan Art section! This is thanks to new staff member gregori, who has volunteered to act as an art scout for UnrealSP.Org:

  • Visit Fan Art to check out our first four entries!

And finally, as requested by TheEmperorStalwartUK, I put together a new featured article:

It's been a pleasure to serve the Unreal single player community for four years, and I hope to continue doing so for the forseeable future. Don't forget to visit the official fourth anniversary forum thread to say "hi"!

Let's also spare a shout for UnrealSPVault.Org, which went live two years ago to host the first release of Dj Vu!

Unreal Tournament Mappage News & Upcoming Event 17 June 2005 Hellscrag

The last few days have seen a bit of upcoming mappage news. Firstly, evil_blue_dude has started a new project thread for Flight to Kindri, in which a few new screenshots and a progress report have been provided. Additionally, Team UnrealSP has recruited two new members, and with them comes a new piece of concept art and, again, a progress report.
The sharp among you will have realised that this coming Tuesday is UnrealSP.Org's fourth anniversary. We have no sixteen-map level packs to release this year I'm afraid, but there will be some interesting things happening on the site on that day, so stay tuned!
