Dj Vu v2.01 Patch 30 June 2004 Hellscrag
Over the past hour, zynthetic discovered that the last-minute addition of the starting sequence to Dj Vu had broken the difficulty settings and the pack was always starting on medium skill. The small v2.01 patch (45kB) has been made available to fix this issue, and a full v2.01 version has replaced the v2.0 version on UnrealSPVault. My apologies for any inconvenience caused; it seems that this site is sadly unable to push out a major release without something going wrong. As before, the full version of Dj Vu can be downloaded here.
Dj Vu Download Issues 30 June 2004 Hellscrag
Several users have reported problems with the Deja Vu download redirecting to the UnrealSPVault main page. This is due to a permissions issue we haven't been able to resolve, but only affects certain people. In the mean time you can try the FileRush bit torrent link, or you can wait for Nali City to show the file (which has already been submitted). My condolences to those affected!
UPDATE: Another mirror is now available. 3 has kindly stored the file, .rar compressed, on his NTL space until such a time as it appears on Nali City. Follow the link below and choose the mirror from the subsequent page.
Dj Vu - Gryphon Revisited v2.0 Released! 30 June 2004 Hellscrag
IT'S HERE! We're releasing from the Vault after all, so you can download it from UnrealSPVault here. Enjoy! I'll update with an official feedback thread later.
UPDATE: The official Dj Vu v2.0 feedback thread is now up, for you to post all your post-gameplay thoughts on. Upcoming Maps is also being updated, moving the pack from "Under Construction" to "Recently Completed".
It's a matter of hours 30 June 2004 Hellscrag
Dj Vu v2.0 will be officially released within the next few hours. All files are zipped and currently being uploaded, but as we can't host it on the Vault right away, there will be a delay while we sort out hosting with BU. If you're in our IRC channel and know anything about bit torrents you may be able to get the file a little sooner!
Still No Dj Vu v2.0 29 June 2004 Hellscrag
I'm getting a slight feeling of dj vu about telling you all that Dj Vu v2.0 still isn't ready for release. My best advice to you is don't spend all day waiting for it. I'll post news again when the game is ready for packaging, and then there'll be a couple of hours' delay while zynthetic and I organise the Internet hosting of the file. Admittedly a lucky few in IRC may be able to get their hands on the file during this couple of hours before the official release, but I must warn you that if you choose to be one of those people you may be waiting for some time!
One more day... 28 June 2004 Hellscrag
I'm sorry to report that Dj Vu v2.0 has been delayed, as I still don't have the ending sequence. At time of writing it's 23:00 British Summer time, which is 22:00 GMT, and sadly I have to go to bed shortly. I'll be up bright and early on Tuesday to see if it's come in, but it'll be at least nine hours before I can tell you either way. To all those of you hitting "refresh" repeatedly, I'd recommend taking the opportunity to get some sleep this evening! I'd stay up all night for you all if I didn't have a driving lesson tomorrow morning, I assure you...
Dj Vu v2.0, Today? 28 June 2004 Hellscrag
If we're lucky, version 2.0 of Dj Vu - Gryphon Revisited may hit the site during the course of the day. Stay tuned to UnrealSP.Org for the release!
More Level Design Tips 27 June 2004 Hellscrag
Level Design has had the first of what I expect will be many updates. The tips pages have had to be re-organised slightly to acommodate these changes, as you will see. But anyway, Waffnuffly had some good notes to add about Creature Factories, Lightning Hunter has added some information about randomising creature placements, Frieza had a further comment about lighting movers and SeeD has a handy suggestion about moving non-brush actors around the grid. Head over to Level Design to read more.
New Site Section 27 June 2004 Hellscrag
As it is our third anniversary season, it seemed only appropriate to add a new section to the site. The brand new Level Design area is the home for all our resources relating to designing single player and coop maps in UnrealEd. As well as our existing articles on the subject, moved from the Featured Articles area, the section bosts some new pages of the handiest UnrealEd tips so far gleaned from our forums. As part of the Featured Articles cleanup, Noailiat's unreviewed fan fiction has been moved to the Fan Fiction Reviews area of the site.
Sarevok Lives! 22 June 2004 Hellscrag
Sarevok has reappeared on the forums and, when interrogated about his M.I.A. map pack The Odyssey has revealed that it was held up by "BSP hell" on the first map. Sarevok has made it his mission to rebuild the first map from scratch using better techniques, and after that we should finally see the pack released.
Happy Anniversary UnrealSP.Org! 21 June 2004 Hellscrag
Welcome to the UnrealSP.Org third anniversary season! It may seem like only yesterday that we were celebrating our second anniversary and releasing version 1.01 of Dj Vu - Gryphon Revisited, but I can safely say that it has been a pleasure to present you with the latest Unreal single player news and reviews for the past three years, and there are no plans to stop any time soon.
Sadly, the new version of Dj Vu - Gryphon Revisited couldn't be with you tonight, but this is due to a last-minute offer of a new ending sequence, and we hope to have the mod for you within the coming week, and a detailed review of it soon afterwards from two of our forum regulars. In the mean time, pop into the anniversary thread on the forums to help us celebrate birthday number three, or come and chat to us in irc.enterthegame.com #unrealsp.
I'd also like to spare a yell for our companion site UnrealSPVault, which began its life a year ago serving v1.01 of our Dj Vu pack. My thanks to all our viewers for making UnrealSP.Org and the UnrealSPVault your site of choice!
Dj Vu v2.0, Soon 18 June 2004 Hellscrag
It's UnrealSP.Org's third anniversary on Monday. We are hoping to have the pack finished by then... all the maps are assembled... but there's still one thing that may hold it up. Stay tuned.
UnrealSP.Org, Hellscrag.net and Forum Outage 15 June 2004 Hellscrag
Below is a message from the hosts of UnrealSP.Org and Hellscrag.net, regarding UnrealSP.Org and Hellscrag.net's earlier outage. Both domains now appear to be functioning again.
Outage on 15/6/2004 at 16:58:
Our data space provider Redbus have experienced a critial power system fault affecting some of our servers located on the 8th floor of Redbus Interhouse London. Most of our servers located in our data suite on the 7th floor are not affected by this.
The servers currently affected by this issue are: 5, 7, 8, 10, 16, Premier1, Premier2, 17, Mid1, 16 & Fran
We understand that this power fault has also affected several other Redbus Interhouse customers, although we are not currently aware as to the cause of the issue, given that Redbus are contracted to supply us with conditioned, multi routed, UPS filtered power supplies and provide a 100% uptime guarantee for the supplies in question.
Our engineers are working to resume service on the above servers as quickly as possible, and we apologise sincerely in the meantime.
Forum Problems 13 June 2004 Hellscrag
We are having trouble with the forums behaving unrealiably at the moment, going down every five minutes or so. The problem has been getting worse over recent weeks and I will probably be contacting tech support to ask why not just the forums but the whole Hellscrag.net domain is functioning so extraordinarily badly. My apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Return to Mars Bits 1 June 2004 Hellscrag
TheEmperorStalwartUK has opened a Return to Mars discussion thread on our forums, in case you have any questions. The RtM website has also received a small update about a hidden and rather powerful defensive item. TESUK is hoping to open a dedicated forum for his project soon.
