Dj Vu News 26 May 2004 Hellscrag

On behalf of the team I'd like to report that Dj Vu: Gryphon Revisited v2.0, which will be a considerably extended and improved version of the game (with 16 fully completed and tested maps), has been progressing rapidly in recent weeks. Assuming we can get everything done in time, we hope to release v2.0 of the pack on our third anniversary, June 21st. Watch this space! In case you've forgotten what the pack looks like, take a look at the v2.0 Teaser Shots we released some time ago.

Return to Mars Updates 21 May 2004 Hellscrag

Not wasting any time, ambitious mapper TheEmperorStalwartUK has made a lengthy list of new weapons and creatures available on the Return to Mars web site. Take a look and see what you think...

Return to Mars Website 18 May 2004 Hellscrag

TheEmperorStalwartUK's Return to Mars web site is open, on its own domain, no less! Although limited info is available on the site at this time (there are no screenshots), there is a comprehensive map list available for you to view. More info will be forthcoming. I've added the site to the Return to Mars entry on Upcoming Maps - while I was at it I had, unfortunately, to remove the entry for DarthWeasel's Axiom Shift, but that's because its assets will now form a part of Seven Bullets.

"Unreal 3 Engine" Demo 15 May 2004 Hellscrag

A video has been released of a five minute presentation showcasing the power and effects of the new generation Unreal engine, to be used for their so-far unnanounced new project. The engine, which has been in development for about eighteen months, has a whole host of technologically advanced features whose names I won't bore you with for now - but if you have broadband and want to take a look for yourself, here's a link.

Mappage Roundup 15 May 2004 Hellscrag

I've been away for a week, but have returned to a couple of bits of news; firstly, Jaspos' Blood Oath will now be developed for Unreal Tournament 2004 instead of Unreal 2 (Jaspos has been hard at work importing meshes), and Lone Wolf has suffered a setback with A Second Chance for Life, due to a hardware crash. Fortunately, Lone Wolf's project has been given its own second chance for life thanks to files retained by a member of the UnrealSP community, who tested a late 2003 build of the pack for him.

AKCoop2 Released 04 May 2004 Hellscrag

AKCoop2 has been released for Unreal. The coop mutator alters creatures and weapons to make the game more challenging, as well as adding additional ammo and new pickup items (including a hoverbot). Also included are Rebel Skaarj followers, and a system for customising the beasties your own way. You can score a download here. In site news, thanks to Techno JF the old news has now been re-archived up to December 2003 - you'll find a new "Archive" link on the menu and one at the bottom of the page.
