I'm experimenting with something that requires a zone's properties to change when triggered. I'm guessing this isn't a standard function (unless it was added in 227 or something), but is there already some sort of code floating around for it or does it need something entirely custom? The Unreal Wiki has something but it sounds like it's a bit limited for what I want.

Which properties? And when you trigger the ZoneInfo itself, right? You'll definitely need something custom, but depending on the properties and how zones work it could be pretty much as simple as a custom Trigger function.

It's a Waterzone/Painzone that initially has an extremely strong current (ZoneVelocity) and does damage that kills very quickly (Damagepersec/Painzone), then, after the event is triggered, the water is supposed to become safe to swim in. In practice there might be a few other things I have to modify for the effect I intend, but those are/should be the main properties.

Edit: This also probably means a couple of zones need to be triggered because of stuff like U/VPan

HEY !! I have not tried it yet for zones, but that property flipper actor Pcube made just might work. is in forums someplace, in content creation.

I dont know what things that will work on for a zone, I havn't tried zones yet with it, you can use strings I believe and numbers for properties.I made a skaarj goto hate with it, and made counter do things, like reset a counter. fn awesome !

I don't know what you will see from clicking that link, but I believe you can download, it's shared, and public.also skydrive increased the file size and space so maybe I can use that to re upload all the maps and things, again.

I logged out of hotmail too see, that link brings you to the page file tree view, not just a direct link download still works though

Thanks, that link works. It seems to work fine for stuff like disabling the PainZone. However, I'm not sure how to change ZoneVelocity with it; ZoneVelocity splits off into three things (X Y Z) and it seems you need to specifically modify those things separately (as just putting ZoneVelocity to "0" doesn't seem to work).

Well not commas, but like you say branched out, sub property.But heck if it can change some of the things is a big plus for zones.You might have to use two independent triggers and and two property switchers for a toggle effect.

My last bout and I KNOW it can be done was, making and elevator with more than 2 floors, and by incorporating a counter reset, instead of the mover needing to goto last keyframe.

I also used it for trigger lights, green and red, I wanted to spawn ,say 5 things, disable the trigger in front of the push mover , have lights switch color to then show another button turn green while the dead one stays red, until I press the other mover 5 times.

so it all worked, using dispatcher, property switcher to reset counters, and thing factory, then I had a placed skaarj, and I could make it goto hate from my setting of friendly.

Telling you that property switcher for UT is almost endless uses, very cool.

If you ARE using 227...you could always use a Dynamic Zone to do your bidding...2 of them...have a trigger to move the old zone somewhere off the map and in its place put in the new zone.
