Here's the problem

See those long posts of mine? (well, anyone, but I only edit my posts) The UDK one, the Unreal Secrets one, G59 one, etc...
Every time I edit them I have this problem that the Post Window goes/moves up. This happens when I'm on lines that are far away from the beginning of the post.

Here's an example: take the Secret thread first post. I try to change something in the Chizra section of the post. Every action I do (write a letter, highlight something, just everything), the post window automatically takes me on the text written above (lots of lines above). I can still change stuff in the Chizra section but I'll be seeing the DIG stuff in the window.
It becomes incredibly worse if I'm changing something that's written in the final part of the post, causing lag and hurt my eyes too.

Not too sure if this happens elsewhere or just in this forum only. I'm using IE8.

Hmm. I cannot seem to reproduce this by editing your long Secrets post with Firefox 5 or IE9. Does this occur to anyone else?

It's fine when I set the board to Prosilver, but both USP styles cause the bug.

I can concur that this is hapening.

My own board has the very same problem and its quite annoying. As a matter a fact i make also long post and i have to turn to the notepad to write them. My board is still the old 3.0.0 and used a heavelly modyfied theme. Long time i thought it was my own board having the problem till i went to the House Of Hermskii (HOH) which acidentelly used the same style as my board is using. Than i though it was was the theme rather my my board.

Than i had to make the post here for the last updates and it happened here as well, so i can now conclude its a bug in the phpBB, and i am not sure they are aware of the bug.

So my board is version 3.0.0 and i dont know what version HOH or this board uses. I know it behaves differently with IE 7 and 8 with some difference i forgot (both annoying).

Apparently this is happening to me even on vBulletin boards. I don't know if this has anything to do with W7 - I still haven't resolved the problem.

Definitely didn't have it on Windows XP. It happened since I got IE8.

Maybe I'm actually justified by calling it Internet Exploder!! hahaha!

but really, that's terrible and microsoft should feel like assholes for making such a bug

I can confirm this as well, only when using IE of course.

You can switch from IE to anything else, it's slow as hell when it comes to javascript.

Just wanted to confirm this, I only ever use IE, but it happens if I edit a post, I have to guess what i am typing because it just keeps snapping back to above where I am typing. And it didn't do this, so I think if it isn't a forum problem it must have been some win7 update.Because I used ie8 and it didn't do that a while back.

Ok i just made a long post, lots of space, edited to delete the space and my "test" and now it is giving me space to type without it snapping above my type.I see extra space now below this, like 7 blanks lines worth.

I'm fine. I have Windows 7 Ultimate with IE9 and works fine.

Unfortunately, IE9 isn't available for Windows XP.
