thanks for the compliments

but really, i'm just maybe a bit above average when it comes to ut99 mapping... i've been doing it for a long time so i can do some things, however, like most people that do this "activity", once you've got about 3 years under your belt (making game levels) you can start to design the things that come into your head (i.e. get really creative ) so it's at this point that the really talented people start to emerge cause you see it in their work. I really haven't advanced too much technically since about that time (3 years, or for around 2003-2004 period). Maybe my lighting got a bit better and my BSP skills improved enough to realize I was doing lots of bad practices, lol

anyways, I just do this for a hobby, and I really mean it when i say i have no time for it, because i really have very little time, and except for maybe 300k map contests, it takes me a long time to get things done the way i want them. Other mappers of my period (i.e. "peers") like Swanky, Milb, derdak2rot, xyz, revelation, Johnny 6, HortonsWho etc - i could go on and on cause the list is big - many of these guys produced high quality maps in a really short amount of time, and their talent began to really show at around the 3 year mark. I think I can make a nice scene, but really for my content (about 50 maps released) although many look quite nice, only 10 maybe have decent gameplay, and that's just decent (not stellar). Well you do what you do, as always, the best maps for a game are usually made by the great players, regardless of the artistic side, I've only ever been an "average" gamer, so that sorta shows in my maps... okay, one last thing, probably the one mapper i admire most in the UE1 world was derdak2rot - easily the most well-rounded mapper I've ever known of, and he never produced anything that was bad in any way (I wish he was still around making maps and campaigns, same with swanky). Anyways, enough blabbering... I'm having some PC issues but I will upload some new pics asap...
Cheers
