If Prophet funds the website he should be an admin too. He becomes by default the most important person for USP's life.

EDIT: Actually I do know html code n'crap due to an exam of mine done two months ago. I wouldn't mind helping Jackrabbit at posting reviews or anything else, especially if I do stuff of mine so I won't bother other people like I continuously did with Scrag, and generally I have more than little time.
And no I ultimately decided that I won't fund. Only if I win a lottery.

As I said, I can offer to handle the funding pending that my situation works out in the future (much nearer than Hellscrag's targeted departure). I wouldn't seek any compensation for that besides asking to continue what I already do (maintain Red Nemesis Section, contribute reviews/articles), as long as the site keeps going.

Anyway, I don't know if the funding is fully settled yet, but helping to pay for this site is no problem for me. This site gave me lots of entertainment before I started my working career, and I still enjoy it once in a while. Would be a shame to see it go

There's a decent chance I will be gaining some degree of financial independence soon, so I may be able to help with site funding.

However, by "soon" I mean most likely about a year at the earliest (and it's not guaranteed), so I guess that doesn't help with the more immediate funding crisis. I can probably do some backup webmastering though (others have already volunteered, but I can probably help if people are away or something).

It seems that Prophet isn't able to take over the funding of the site quite yet. As such, the site had better remain on my hosting for the time being. However, perhaps we can start thinking about ways in which sana and Raven could take over the running of the site while it is still on my hosting, and begin making any changes that they may wish to make? I am prepared to provide FTP access, and can look into providing other areas of control on request.

There is free forums just like this, not sure about the file part, and the name, but it is identical to these types of forums.

Ya I don't know how all this stuff works, but you can't even get free redirect sites anymore, Skillz at UTfiles is keeping a redirect, and I seen nalicity has something going.

phpBB is a free piece of software that is run on the UnrealSP.Org server. Remember, this site is a lot more than just a forum, which is why it requires funding.

Might want to create a paypal account so you can receive donations from anyone who would want to participate in funding...
Since you can also pay with creditcard to a paypal account, it might be a nice solution or at least a start.

As Hellscrag said, it's what...10 bucks a month? 120 bucks a year? Once I start this new job (waiting on paperwork) I can keep that up indefinitely, sure. Though it would be nice to have contributors, since the way I see it USP could go on much longer than just a few more years.

Plus this isn't the only host out there. As I've noted earlier the one I use is cheaper, able to sustain high volumes and I can vouch for it's reliability. Something that can rarely ever be depended on by free hosts or services. Likewise with offers of hosting/services by benevolent contributors. It may be an honest effort to contribute something of value but it's just adding a middleman into the equation, making it more of a chore to admin the site because you're not actually an admin, you're just borrowing.

A paypal link seems like a good idea combined with a target balance for the year. Given the cost of operating this site I don't think it'll change very often or for long from "fufilled" or a similar term.
