Walkthrough - "Xidia Gold"OrbitMap Author: Will "Mister Prophet" Drekker You've started Jones' adventure. How hard will the first map be? Not at all in reality, it's just an intro with some friendly people in it. You'll also get your first weapons and items. The first room you're in is inside an elevator of a Human Starship (named USM Ice Raven according to the readme), unarmed but with full health. Once the elevator finishes "moving" (in reality it is in the same position), the door in front of you opens automatically and you can access the first corridor. A few steps forward and you'll receive the first message from your boss: "Mission Update: Ok listen up Jones, we've added a modification to your Translator, connecting a transmitter to our own beacon. Whenever you get a new message, a message will appear to tell you if the translator is picking up a New Translator Message or a Mission Update. This is an example of a Mission Update, these signals will occur whenever we call, otherwise your translator will pick up normal messages whenever you approach important data, such as a computer screen or other text. The Translator can understand alien language and change it into English for you, so don't worry."
Continuing onwards, there's a repairing bot on the right side, while on the left a door leading to some kind of crew berth. Press the button near it and enter. "Mission Update: There it is, Planet Xidia, first world in the Rim system. From here it looks small compared to that star, but the planet is actually larger than Earth by a few hundred miles in diameter. Mostly mountainous with a few large oceans, trekking the surface requires skill." Now check the two groups of lockers. The first one has mapper Cliffy B's photo and a book containing a message: "Collins, Log: I hate these long shifts. At home it ain't so bad, but out here, everything feels different. The floor vibrates and the artificial gravity gets quite annoying after awhile. I just wanna get back home and enjoy the sun. Maybe I'll visit Floridia, or I heard the Afghanistan sea is great this time of year." The other one just contains a useless DeathMatch Trophy. Now return to the previous corridor. You can take the first door or the second one found in the room. The latter just takes you to the end of the corridor, after its turn. "SearchLight: As a scout, this is your best friend. We don't know the condition of the Outpost, so this might come in handy. It uses a Duracell generator, so don't worry about running out of juice, but to make sure you don't run out of power, don't leave it on when you don't need it. It's water proof and shock resistant." Second computer has seven Flares (inspiration for 7 Bullets?). Like in Unreal (and pretty much everywhere), these are quite worthless, but it's always better to pick them up. Message too: "Quick Flares: Standard military "quick" flares. Designed for a short lifespan before burning out, no more than ten seconds. They can be used to ignite things, although their main function is to provide a quick burst of illumination and then dying out. A covert stealth item. You only have them as a backup if your light malfuntions. You shouldn't really need these anyway, you won't be down there too long." Before entering the Armoury, check the two doors leading to the Observation Lounge. Two long corridors leading to another window showing Xidia. Here you'll also find another human, Lt. Cray, who will later become Spencer's main enemy. But you can't kill him now. :p
Enter the Armoury (you cannot go back after entering it) and you'll see other computers with stuff on them. The first one has an useful Body Armor, plus a message about it: "Body Armor: Standard military body armor. Kevlar laced with a thin outer metal lining. Small arms fire will have little effect, though this is armor designed for light protection. Since your a scout, it's perfect for protection while enabling you to move fast. Not invincible, too much damage can wear down it's efficiency." The second one has a Dispersion Pistol, an Automag and a box of 50 bullets. A message is here: "Sidearms: Standard issue Automag and Dispersion pistol. Dispersion pistol uses an Brilithium core to power the discharge, granting the weapon unlimited recharing ability after each shot. Automag fire gas propelled rounds, weapon is also light wieght and eays to carry. Slight kick after each shot." The last table has an old friend from Unreal: Return to Na Pali: the Combat Assault Rifle (CAR). This time it's MK2 and throws grenades with the secondary fire (you don't have any yet), though you firstly need to switch modes. There's also a CAR Clip and a message: "Combat Assault Rifle: Fires caseless rounds in rapid succession. Full clip holds 400 rounds, rounds are light armor piercing, high velocity shells. Alternate ammo chamber carries a maximum of 15 pump action grenade rounds. USM Standard issue, your assigned Rifle is serial number 1337. In addition to your mission statistics, your rifle will now be equiped with grenade rounds." Once you get everything, go in the door near the last weapon (the other one is closed) and proceed into the last corridor, where a mine cart starts moving below. Once you do some steps in this room, you'll finish the map. It was supposed to be longer, as there are some unfinished Scripted Sequences that even Proph doesn't remember. Plus, where's Gala? I hear in this corridor only EndEx...
Whatever... you finished Xidia's first map! Now for the next one...
