Walkthrough - "Xidia Gold"

Self-Destruct

The first map of Xidia: The Escape is the shortest and obviously the easiest, devoid of any real challenge and serving primarily as an intro. You start in the room seen in the cutscene of the previous level. Your objective is: escape from the place. You are near the DarkLord area, where the bomb was put and which is going to explode (not in-game fortunately). Let's move...

You have no weapons at the start, except the Translator and an infinite FlashLight. In front of you there's a panel. Go near it for your first message:

"System Control Station 192-C7: Code red system alert, highest security level reached. Explosives detected in substructure, minutes till self-destruct calculated. Several small explosives rigged on seperate sectors, each going off randomly to furthure disable any attempt to disengage main bomb. Evacuation code initiated."

Go away from this room by using the opened vent shaft. In these tunnels, you'll find an Automag containing 45 bullets.

Advance until the end, which is the entrance to the area where the DarkLord has been killed. In the middle there's Jones with the shuttle, but he'll go away before you arrive at it.
Situation looks desperate, but who knows... The big pile of crates on your right should have an opened box with two Health Packs, but they're useless now as your health is 100.
You have to be careful, though, as three Pupae are hidden in this area. They'll mostly spot you before you do the same, but there's always one who hides.
The positions of the three Pupae are:

1) At the entrance of this area you used, there's a red crate on the left. Behind it you'll find the Pupae.
2) Behind the tank in the area.
3) The group of three red crates in the distance. The Pupae hides here.

Five bullets are needed to kill one, so be sure not to miss your targets too much. The DarkLord's dead body is here, and it's annoyed by some harmless Larvae that you can't even kill (no way possible as their collisions seem to be deactivated).

To proceed forward in the level, go to the lift hole and wait the platform after you heard a "bip" sound. The elevator will arrive. Take it and go down.
The tunnel, as you can remember from the Exodus map, is flooded until a certain point. Nothing harmful, but be careful after the turn, as the first pool is full of electricity which will kill you. Just jump it or use the plank to proceed.

Have fun with the blood pool and enter the next room. Is here when someone will contact you... Lt. Cray:

"Incoming Call: Your name is Morgan Spencer, right? I'm contacting you through your translation device. Theres no time to talk, I'm going to help you escape but you need to listen and react without asking questions. There is a bomb that will go off in a few minutes, your only chance of escaping the explosion is by the cargo train which will be evacuating very soon. Go left and get to the train cargo hold, Move it!"

The door leading to the first DarkLord arena is closed, so go on the left side where you'll enter new rooms.
The first one is some kind of sewer. On the part in the middle, you'll see a body with a Dispersion Pistol (DP), so get it absolutely (you'll get it at the start of the next level though).
When you climb the second staircase, watch out as a falling brick will come from above, crushing anything in his way, including you (to death).

The door here can be opened by pressing the button on the left. Use the DP to break the glass, and then press the button. Advance through the next area which is a bridge over some kind of train station. Below you can see a Skaarj Lord and a Skaarj Praetorian talking each other. You can't shoot them though, and viceversa (luckily)...

You'll get a message though from your new friend...

"Incoming Call: You won't have time to prep the turbo lift inorder to board the train from the station, that path is heavily damaged and crawling with those creatures! Your best shot is to head to the cargo supply lift and stuff yourself near a crate as the cargo is lowered to the train's rear supply cars. But before you go, look in thew room across the bridge and grab small battery device near an open crate, the side of the crate should have a note with the words "Drink Me". Once you have that battery, get to that lift and into that box, Go!"

Do as he says and proceed in the next chamber. The hole in the middle is broken and flooded. You can never go inside it, though the water actually kills you...
On the left side there are two Health Packs, while on the right side a crate with the following message:

""Drink Me" Battery unit- ALO-72-J: When applied with the "Eat Me" battery unit, "Alice" will come tumbling down the rabbit hole."

Inside you'll find the battery. Proceed in the last room and go behind the pile of crates...

"Incoming Call: Good! You got the battery, now get in that crate!"

Enter the opened one to finish the map.
