"The distant call of the beast"

Ok, finally a somewhat tough map with a slightly hard boss. Start by advancing in the outside area where you'll notice an Automag on the ground. If you have its ammo to max, ignore it, and try to spend 20 of them to the Skaarj Scout who's treating a Nali in the valley below. Stay on your ledge and start shooting him. The Skaarj will strafe-fire to you by going to the part which leads to your position. But if you manage to hit him various times before going there he'll start to retreat. Finish him with the same weapon. All the Skaarj Projectiles can be avoided simply by strafing (he misses a lot by the way). Now pick up the Automag near you and go down to the valley. There are two NHPs, one near the tree on the left and one behind the house. Ignore the Nali for now, equip the DP, enter the house and say hi to the Tentacle found into it (how that Nali is supposed to live in here? :P). Inside this place you'll find a Flashlight in a chest and a message on the table:

"The sun is setting and I hear demons calling my name. Tremendous earthquakes and screams of devils echo through the chasm. I thought I was going mad but then all of a sudden it stopped. Fear has invaded my mind and turned my legs into stone. I am too scared to venture down to see Nd'Defel for I fear he was not successful. I must gather my things."

Now exit and follow the Nali. The hut near him as a barrel containing a Rocket Can though. Now equip the Eightball and go into that small structure near the house. Descend and see the movement of the Nali. After he'll point you to the secret button, he'll try to exit the place. Deny it by exiting the place before he does it. Do this, because two Skaarj Assassins will come from the next valley for the death of this Nali. Once you see them, charge three 8Ball bombs. The Skaarj Assassins will ignore you, trying to kill the Nali (if he's still in that cellars, he'll be safe). Luckily the Skaarj will fire when stood in one position, so you can throw at him the three bombs (he should be dead and damaging slightly the other one). For the second Skaarj, throw a rocket or two at him plus ending DP shots. Killed? Ok. If you have more than 36 rockets, don't try to pick up the Rocket Can there. Now explore the place where you left the Nali (feel free to take him where he want). Inside the cellars you'll find a button on your left to open the bookcase, plus a Stinger Ammo inside a barrel and a Flak Box inside the box on the right side. There are two message there, one of the right and the other on the left:

"The warmth of the sun is fading and soon will be followed by impassable blankets of snow. The first frost appeared last night. I'm concerned that there are not enough supplies to last the season. Since the beast wandered into our mountain pass we haven't been able to travel to the palace. I was fortunate enough to sneak by with an artifact as he lay asleep. I will never have the courage to repeat that voyage again until the beast is gone."

"We have been damned, my fears are not without justice. I gathered enough courage to visit Nd'Defel once more only to see him on the verge of death. If I had only let him have the artifact this may have never happened."

For the bookcase secret, there are two ASMD Cores, one Stinger Ammo, one Seed and an Amplifier. Don't get anything here YET, because anything you do you'll get the Amplifier, and you have already one that need to be spent on this map's boss.
Now exit and progress in the next valley. Before its path, check on the right, behind the small spire, an human body with a Stinger and a message from the glowing Translator:

"I'm not sure how they do it. There seem to be skaarj forces getting past the cave titan withough being attacked. I'll have to track thier movements more closely to see how this is possible."

Answer: check the Titan and Skaarj scripts for that :)
Proceed to the next area but stay away from its entrance. Save the game. You should see a Skaarj Lord patrolling here. When you see him, start to shoot DP 2ndary fire bolts (and only that for the fight). The Skaarj Lord isn't going to follow you, but to lure you into a trap; but stay on your position and dodge his projs while you pummel him with the DP. He's likely going to dodge a lot, but try to push him behind the left side of the house. If he arrives there, he'll get stuck and will only avoid 20% of your bolts by going on left and right, but he'll eat the rest. After his death, do the same thing for the Skaarj Assassin hidden at the end of the valley. There's also a second Skaarj Assassin which appears in that field or over a balcony near it. Sometimes you'll get to fight the Assassin before the Lord etc... All of them can be killed with the method above, except if the last Assassin mentioned above appears on the balcony. To kill him, shoot to attract his attention and go beneath its ledge. The Skaarj will try to search for you by going over the fence. As soon as you see him, damage him with your DP like a mad, so he'll get stuck on the fence. If he jumps from it, fool him by going around the house and making him stuck on a heightened ledge. Once you clear everyone, check firstly the house there. On the right two barrels containing one ASMD Core and a Rocket Can; a Flak Cannon on the table (you should have 26 ammunition of it by now), and some potteries containing a Flare and a Bandage. Two messages too:

"I have failed, my brothers. I have tried to defeat the cave beast but it has nearly slain me. I was fortunate enough to escape but I fear not without severe injury as I feel myself getting weaker by the minute. I know not long from now I will be dead. My prayers go out not to myself but to all the souls that wander these caverns. I pray that one day the beast is slain and my dead brothers can find rest."

"Ottinaota discovered an artifact from one of the sky demons that fell near the palace. He managed to sneak past that beast and hide it in his cellar somewhere. I have already warned him that we were spotted as we returned. What have I gotten him into? I know until the artifact is returned we will be hunted. Only if Ottinaota lets me use the artifact not only we can defeat the beast in the cave but our attackers as well."

Exit and head for the fence near the cave, because there's a screaming Male2Carcass (memories of the Rikers...) with a message:

"Ever since I left the cellars, skaarj have been coming out of the woodwork. Seems like they're everywhere. Just my luck that I've been captured by one. I'd rather be dead now but these sadistic bastards would rather see me in pain. I hate skaarj, I hate this damn planet, I just want to go home."

N0 u'r t3h c0nd3mn3d! St4y h3r3!!11 Ok with jokes, enter the cave and get scared by the Titan's scream. I suggest going on the right pathway and equip the ASMD. You arrive at some bars, which will opens if you go near them. If you pass them you cannot return anymore back until you beat the boss. If you stand on them while they're closing, you'll die, killed by geometry :P
What you have to do is stay for now behind them: there's a Skaarj Assassin behind the pillar you see in front of you, and it is really a problem if he team up with the boss. To kill him without entering the area, follow this method: open the bars and shoot DP 2ndary fire bolts near that pillar, the most near position possible to that Skaarj. If done correctly, he'll move versus the area in which you shot, followed them by him discovering you. Badly he tries to escape, luring you in the trap; but luckily he just goes near the gate to the exit. Use ASMD primary fire here to kill him. You need probably the Flashlight, accuracy and also patience as you have to open the bars always when they close. Don't try to spend many ASMD ammo though. Once you have finished the thing, equip the Amplifier (don't activate it yet) and the Eightball. Enter the big cave for the next boss fight.

Boss Fight: Titan
Health: 4350 - 30% resistance to Exploded damage (DP, Eightball and Flak Cannon)
Difficulty:
Attacks:
1)Punch (80 damage): Usual Titan's punch attack.
2)Slap (85 damage): Usual Titan's slap attack.
3)Boulders (80 from instakill damage): fear these leet rocks.
4)Earthquake: Does this a lot. The famous quake is used here in order to make you vulnerable to his rocks.
Description:
One of the enormous beasts called Titan roaming the lands of Na Pali. They are incredibly strong, and this cave guardian is no exception.

A pretty damn hard guy. This is not your generic Titan battle. He has twice the health of a normal one, likes a lot earthquakes and the environment here make escape quite impossible. At the start of the fight, when you enter the area, start to run to his throne and charge Eightball bombs. When you're near him, try to hit him with at least six bombs. Now remember the pillar where the Skaarj Assassin was using to hide? It's time to use it ourselves too (in the dark area behind the pillar, is here where you need to hide). The Titan cannot go in your area because he can't descend ledges (lol), but he'll throw stones like there's no end and he'll create tons of earthquakes. It can happen everything: you're hiding behind the pillar, he does an earthquake that sends you far from it, Titan sees you, Titan throw rocks at you, you die, game over etc, etc, etc... But happens rarely, and the pillar is just the best protection. Now how to kill him. Be sure to have been successful with the first assault. Hide in the pillar now. If you hear him walking, start to charge bombs, make yourself visible from the Titan and shoot him. Then quickly return to the pillars (you'll avoid the rocks, trust me, you just need ACCURACY and SPEED). Got the thing? You just need to fool the Titan, making yourself visible when he's not throwing rocks at you and use that time to shoot him. Save through the fight if you fell yourself near the danger and already damaged it a lot. I spent the following ammo on him: rockets until your ammo quantity touch 18, 120 Stinger projectiles (I'll recommend the primary fire. When he's doing still nothing spread fire is useful), ASMD shots until your ammo quantity touch 20 (including the one spent for the Skaarj Assassin fought before. If you refilled the weapon with one ASMD Core found in the map, then the quantity will be 30). The rest all with DP, plus Amplifier ones and tons of patience for the recharge of its ammo. He got a lot of health so the fight is very long. Never underestimate him. Maybe you can also exploit his AI bug: hide behind the pillar and see if the Titan stops. Now try to move in order to make visible one of his shoulder and shoot it. If he doesn't move, continue to do this (he'll get stunned every time, so no earthquakes and rocks throwing). When he's dead, save the game.

Long fight damn. The death of the Titan opened a passage near his throne. Before going into it, check the cave for a body with an Eightball (it's one the left side of the place). Now drop in the hole and kill the Tentacle assaulting you there. There's a box with a Flak Shell too. Advance through the cave where you'll fight another Tentacle. You'll arrive in a part with some boxes on the left and right. The left one has a Flak Shell, the ones on the right a Clip and an Health Pack. Progress through the next turn where you'll face a Brute. Equip the Automag and shoot him while strafing to avoid the missiles. He follows you, so retreat in the previous room and restart the assault. Once he's dead, go at the end of the cave, clearly to the balcony over the last valley. There's a lever here which activates the gate for the exit. On the extreme left there's an Automag with a corpse, check well. There's a message too:

"All I've got is this automag and nothing to kill it with. I think I'll wait around for a while for the others."

Now jump down and go back in the map to get the Amplifier and all the stuff you left in the map. Then head for the cavern again, go for the gate, check for a box with an Health Pack and finish the map.
