Walkthrough - "Déjà Vu - Gryphon Revisited v2.01"The Valley of Shia'dorleMap Authors: Jaunie Perry and Tim "Frieza" Kok "A storm is brewing" The strew of easy maps continues with this. This is slightly harder than the previous one though, but it doesn't have a dangerous situation. "Orders for Unit 23C of subjunction 7 Bèta: Destroy the human responsible for destroying Outpost Thèta 2F. It may not be allowed access to the Valley of Shia'Dorle." These Skaarj are so stupid as hell as we're just killed guys, not destroying an entire place (OMGWTF). Now go to the next, dark corridor on your left/right and watch out at the lights that may hurt your eyes :) "All units are hereby ordered to memorize this rule: All units passing this base without authorization from their commanding officers will be executed." Cool Skaarj rules lol! XD "Ensign Houren Ces' log entry 1337: Apparently bad luck is the only thing we're going to get on short term. We thought we finally found a way out of this mess, but the ship appears to be broken. A Skaarj could come by any moment, I just hope I'm awake when that happens." Now leave this damn place by entering the cave on the right wall. You'll end yourself in a cave with three bodies, some NHPs and three Automag. DON'T PICK UP THE AUTOMAG OF THE FIRST BODY FROM THE LEFT SIDE PLEASE, I'll explain it later. Two bodies have two messages though (one of them is near the warned Automag mentioned above)... "Log: Weapons Officer Chris Edon. I knew we should have taken more artillary with us! We only have these three automags left, with the number of Skaarj around, we don't stand a chance." "Log: Navigations Officer Karen Storm. We have been camping in this small cave for some odd hours now, surviving off an alien cow. There is water nearby, at least we won't die of dehydration." Proceed to the exit of the cave as you'll end up in a pool with friendly Biterfishes. Now go on surface and check the path near the laser beams (they destroy you if you touch them). There's a Lesser Brute patrolling. Easy, just like a normal Krall with stronger and more projectiles, kill him by shooting DP bolt like mad (and you should never miss the target too). Strafe to avoid the rockets. Sometimes he ends up touching the laser and killing himself up. Well they are stupid anyway, although it will not give you points. Now explore the area. Near the fallen car next to the laser there's a dead body with a message: "Log: Jeff Marquette. The minute the LT-VIPER lifted off the surface of the planet, we were attacked by a fleet of Skaarj. I'm not sure how long I can stay here without being found." Now check the computer area. Check the console for the message... "Distress signal sent to Fleet #2: No responce, cannot detect them on short range scanners. LS-VIPER lifted off 30 minutes before LT-VIPER landed. Cannot contact LS-VIPER. Cannot contact the LT-VIPER either." And the one of body near it... "Log: Damn those Skaarj! They didn't even give us a chance! I sent a distress and warning signal to the other fleet, but received no response, just static. I hope they're okay, they are our only chance." NEVER. There's also a broken box here containing an Armor, three Flare and another message: "Log: Matthew Wern, Soldier. I knew I shouldn't have stayed here at the camp rubble, I don't think I will be able to last long, all I have left is this dispersion pistol." When you're going to exit from this box... run like mad somewhere far from this thing, as over it appeared a Manta. Kill it with the DP with the "running backwards" strategy. The last message is found near the broken box, clearly beneath the rock formation. Check the human body: "Log: Charles S. Ding. I've been holding up here for about three hours now, two Skaarj have already tried to get me out of this crevice. I wasted all my ammo stopping them." You should have read all the messages by now. There's a big pile of boxes near the computer area but ignore it for now and proceed to the next valley of the map. You'll find a tall rock with a palm and a torch near it. It hides a Giant Manta. Surprise it with the DP. Chase starts. Run backwards and diagonally while shooting DP bolts at him without a break. This loser will die quickly. Return to proceed toward the village. Near its entrance there are two barrels which one of them contains a Stinger Ammo. Equip Stinger, see a body flying, enter the village and watch your right side to see a Skaarj Berserker chasing you. The battle is kinda tougher: run backwards and try to dodge to a safe position while moving. When he's near you, Stinger Spread fire him. If he goes to the part of the valley with the torches, he may get stuck here just to shoot only. Finish him with DP in this case. Now enter the village and you'll see a Skaarj Warrior patrolling the area behind the well. Try to kill him with DP (when he dodges, shoot where he lands and repeat. Retreating always. You can also make him stuck like the Skaarj Berserker) or Automag if you have problems. Now you can enter this damn place. On your left there are just two useless huts with meat and cows, so go for the well in which you'll find an Amplifier. Time to see what's inside the houses. I'll start with the one near the Cow hut, going then clockwise. The first house contains Stinger Ammo and a Bandage inside barrels and a pottery. There's a message on the table: "Another one of my friends was slain yesterday. The demons who came from the stars show no mercy, we must not leave the gates of our village or we shall meet our death." There's nothing in the roof. Exit the house. Now prepare your DP because you have to face six Flies. They appear in the village one after one, but they aren't really a threat, YOU are the one to search for them actually. After you kill them all, head for the second house. Here there are a Clip and a Flashlight inside a barrel and a pottery; then a meditating Nali with a message on the table: "I must leave this place, the Skydemons know we are here. I fear I shall be slaughtered if I do not go. They guard the gates, but at night, tend to be less alert, I will try to sneak out when the first of the two moons has set." Roof contains nothing again. Move to the third house. There's just a message here: "A two armed creature showed up at our village today! She seemed hurt. I will mend to her wounds and take care of her until she is strong enough to leave." Now for the last house. You'll find three vases containing three Flares and a message: "My heart despairs, the two armed creature has not made it through the night. I will bury her in the graveyard tomorrow." In the roof, there's just a Nali and the body of the dead human mentioned above, along with her message: "Log: Science Officer Jessica Playne. It's a good thing I wandered away from the group to find help. I came across some four-armed creatures that seem to be the planet's native species. They have offered to help me." Now the last thing is the medieval church. Before entering it, on its left side there's a narrow passage with an ASMD Core at the end. Enter the building now, and kill the Tentacle at the right of the first corridor directly after the entrance. Progress in the smaller corridors. Go firstly on the left side to fight a sleeping Krall. Charge a DP shot at him, then usual DP pummel, he gets stuck in his place and have hard time hitting you (you can strafe :P). On the right side, there's the mini church. Here you'll find some vases (the one at the left has a Flare), a Nali Priest and a message which triggers the gate to the exit (outside the church): "Follow your soul, it will show you the way through the catacombs. Before you venture below the ground, retrieve the secret in the bell tower." We are going to it so don't worry. The Nali Priest will opens a secret door near the altar revealing finally an Eightball, an Eightball Can, an Health Pack, a Flashlight and three Seeds. If for some reasons you kill (or the Krall but that's highly improbable) the Nali Priest, at the church entrance you'll fight a Skaarj Assassin. But I just recommend saving the Nali rather than wasting time with a lame Skaarj class :) "The church, our only holy place of worship, has now been overrun by the SkyDemons! Oh what have we done wrong to anger our gods! Forgive us!" The barrels at the end contain a Clip and a Stinger Ammo. Now re-use the lift to go at the final floor, the bell tower. A Tentacle attacks you there. Kill it and retrieve the ASMD, which will trigger the appearance of two Flies (can be inside or outside the church, even in the graveyard. Search for them). Now exit this place and go for the cemetery in which you'll fight two Krall Elites. Use Automag here, fourteen ammo are enough here. Now it's time for a thing: remember the cursed Automag of before. Go and get it now. As you pick it and exit from the cavern, you'll see a Brute coming from the left side. He's just a tougher Lesser Brute with more health and resistance to DP bolts. Still use DP bolts, but try to find a way to escape to a good direction, I.e. the village path. The last thing is the pile of crates near the computer area. There are a lot of barrels there: climb them and you should arrive on one of the boxes. Here you can find a Shield Belt. Now go for the graveyard, make sure you killed every enemy and read the messages of the first tombs: "Here lies Ruun, the village idiot. Who died during the second cycle of the moon" There's the last set of bigger tombs plus the exits. All of them have messages except the opened passage... "Here lies Narimm, Village Elder during the first dark era." ^LOL! :P Go to the opened tomb and finish the level once for all.
